Director, Customer Experience Senior Prototyper/Designer (Virtual)

About the position

The Customer Experience organization within the Individual Solutions Group (ISG) at Prudential, is working on exciting new emerging technologies and user experiences. We are a team of diverse and talented designer, engineers, thinkers and innovators who are comfortable with the most groundbreaking technologies. We prototype with a test and learn approach driven by human centric design and minimal process overhead. We focus on what will make the most compelling demonstrations of new experiences. As a senior CX Prototyper, you will have a unique opportunity work at the intersection of design and technology and shape solutions that will delight and inspire Prudential’s customers every day. A qualified candidate is a dynamic, creative and talented leader who can deliver on next generation enterprise wide digital experiences, with focus on overall user interface optimization, user interaction, and system and human design thinking. You thrive in an agile environment, and possess solid experience successfully navigating the complexities of a large organization. Visual creativity, wireframe and prototype development abilities are a must. Ability to work at start-up speed is also key. Responsibilities
  • Support innovation leaders in helping to visualize and create early prototypes for testing.
  • Partner closely with Voice of Customer (VOC) team and User Testing Leader to help define and create new user experiences, beginning with ideation, and following through to implementation.
  • Design engaging, efficient and attractive user interfaces
  • Be a though leader in embracing and evangelizing design concepts and best practices
  • Partner across matrixed customer experience and technology teams to develop interactive applications tailored to specific use cases, exploring new mechanics, and for client presentations. You will design new UI and UX concepts.
  • Collaborate on the creation of innovative ideas, technical recommendations and business planning to help develop and implement these ideas in collaboration with an agile team.
  • Transform business requirements into elegant interaction and visual designs, thoroughly understanding the underlying user workflows and motivations
  • Translate complex content and information use cases into wireframes, interaction outlines, mockups, storyboards, user flows and interactive prototypes
  • Ensure consistency of user experience inside, and across different, applications
  • Create and build mockups, storyboards, wireframes, mockups, comps and interactive prototypes for solutions and apps used on web and mobile
  • Additional responsibilities can include working with business to help create compelling and captivating marketing and promotional materials.
Qualifications
  • High energy and passionate about Customer Experience
  • Ability to work well with a cross-functional, geographically dispersed team and customer base
  • Experience working in a matrix/nonhierarchical environment who embraces a culture of agility and innovation
  • 6 + years of rich interaction design and prototyping focused on digital products.
  • 2+ year of interaction design experience for omni channel and touch-based mobile interfaces is a plus.
  • An online portfolio demonstrating interaction design process and thinking
  • Experienced with all aspects of a user-centered interaction design process, including user research, developing user flows, creating wireframes, conducting usability tests and creating annotated design specifications
  • Strong self-management skills, comfortable with substantial responsibility, working directly with our client partners, and capable of managing your project schedules
  • Proficient in design tools like Sketch, Omnigraffle, Axure and other industry leading tools
  • Experience running design sessions with cross-functional teams
  • Provide guidance and training in prototyping practices to the UX team.  
  • Understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS & Javascript.
  • Write and maintain documentation for prototyping processes
