Director, Competitive Intelligence

• The primary responsibility of the Strategy & Corporate Development group is to help the company and its businesses build their long range strategic plans, execute on strategic M&A transactions and develop & utilize robust competitive insights
• The corporate competitive intelligence team provides market intelligence resources and insight. This includes curation and oversight of the digital library/ICE, monthly competitive intelligence newsletters and market insight opinion articles, quarterly deep dives on key competitor earnings and other major announcements as well as ad hoc market intelligence work in conjunction with the corporate strategy team.

• Develop a strategy and approach for identifying, researching and analyzing current and potential payments industry players
• Analyze quarterly earnings results as well as all key events [M&A, product offerings, key personnel moves, etc.] of major competitors, financial institutions, emerging and alternative service providers and technology & strategic developments.
• Conduct high-quality analysis and communicate insights and implications for MasterCard in a timely manner to senior management including the Executive Committee.
• Improve both formal and informal internal crowd-sourced competitive intelligence - including regional Market Intelligence Networks.
• Continue to publish and improve relevant competitive intelligence dashboards include ICE, Monthly Newsletters
• Develop and implements appropriate methods for keeping relevant constituencies up-to-date on competitive trends and developments
• Provide research and analysis to support the competitor 360 process. Work with 360 competitor champions to develop and present relevant research and finding that support management decision making and resource allocation at MasterCard.
• Participate in key cross-functional projects with teams such as Strategy, Global Products & Services and Regional management.
• Prepare and conduct presentations to various cross-functional teams. Provide thought leadership and insights on market developments and trends in the payments industry.

All About You
• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred. CFA a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in highly analytical positions such as competitive analysis, strategy, product management, regional management, corporate finance, consulting and/or equity research
• Excellent financial skills
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with a complex web of relationships, moderate meetings, debate and negotiate key issues, and provide stewardship on company-wide projects
• Ability to independently develop high-quality presentations
• Ability to lead complex projects from start to finish
• Executive level interpersonal and presentation skills
• Knowledge of financial services and/or payment industry preferred
• Power Point, Excel and Word
