Director, Community Partnerships (CSR)

Within our Diversity, Inclusion and Impact team, you will strengthen and develop community partnerships at the intersection of our Corporate Social Responsibility and Inclusion strategies. Through grant-making and strategic sponsorships, you will promote our social impact efforts in our home city of Newark and foster relationships with national diversity partner organizations. As an external affair professional, you will help liaise with local civic leaders and public officials and cultivate the strategic partnerships to enhance Prudential’s social impact.

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Giving, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Elevate Prudential’s visibility in our HQ city of Newark as an “anchor institution”

  • Cultivate local external affairs efforts through the strategic deployment of corporate contributions and philanthropic grants

  • Manage a portfolio of grant relationships, sponsorships and events to support and grow our brand visibility

  • Represent Prudential in community relations efforts with local leaders and elected officials

  • Develop national diversity partnerships, including strategic events and conference sponsorships

  • Build relationships across business and corporate groups to ensure appropriate stakeholders and employees participate where appropriate

  • Establish and nurture trusted working relationships with external partners, grantees and internal stakeholders to advance Prudential’s mission and enhance social impact

  • Develop and implement metrics to track growth and impact

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 8 years corporate professional experience; at least 5 years of experience in philanthropy, corporate giving or grant-making

  • Demonstrated portfolio of accomplishments in grant-making, strategic partnerships, events and/or corporate sponsorships

  • Demonstrated and established relationships with local civic leaders and public officials

  • Excellent collaborator with a portfolio of accomplishments of developing meaningful and trusting relationships with internal and external partners

  • Creative thinker with demonstrated ability to market and defend personal ideas/concepts

  • Creative curiosity with a passion for discovering and trying new concepts; connects with people in a way that guides creativity

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 15%
