We are currently seeking a Director, Audits for the Warner Home Entertainment (WBHE) Home Office Accounting department. The Director will report into the VP Accounting & Financial Reporting. This role will be responsible for the planning, coordination and oversight of all WBHE Audits including those with 3rd party vendors and/or with Time Warner Internal Audit (TWIA).  The role serves as the point person between Home Entertainment Management, Corporate Accounting team, 3rd party audit firms and TWIA. The role oversees digital video audits, games audits, and physical video audits. Specifically, the responsibilities will include:  
  • Overseeing all video and games audits performed by independent third-party firms or by TWIA.  
  • Developing risk assessment criteria and maintaining analytics to aid in audit prioritization or development of annual audit slate.
  • Collaborating with WB internal stakeholders worldwide to identify, develop and prioritize the audit slate.    
  • Overseeing the status of all audits undertaken with external auditors, including communication to management, sourcing work, facilitating data requests, facilitating issue resolution, ensuring report issuance and ensuring audit closure and/or and timely settlement negotiations.  
  • Developing recommendations for improving internal processes and procedures (i.e. internal accounting processes or internal software applications) to enhance and streamline audits as determined from completed audits.
  • Documenting and maintaining a summary of each audit to be used as reference for future audits, risk assessment and audit valuation assessments. Include key audit issues, client system overviews, client data gaps or anomalies, licensee responses to findings, monetary findings and amounts collected.    
  • Determining appropriate accounting treatment as related to business issues, contract clauses, findings and audit results. WBHE and EFS groups should be consulted on proposed accounting treatments to ensure appropriate.
  • Assisting in drafting new contract language for areas which need to be clarified based on audit findings, issues raised, other inputs.
  • Ensuring timely audit closure. Liaise with Sales, Legal, and Accounting to facilitate issue resolution, report issuance, and pursing audit collection and/or settlement.  
What do we require from you?
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • At least 5 -7 years of prior work experience and previous experience managing staff.
  • Public Accounting and/or audit experience.  
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, Accounting Standards, practices and Controls.
  • Ability to effectively analyze issues, provide recommendations and implement.
  • Strong Excel and SAP skills.
