Digital Yield Associate for Watson Advertising

Job Description
The Weather Company's advertising sales division is now Watson Advertising, and represents the evolution of our sales organization since being acquired by IBM. We are an ecosystem of media, data, and AI technology solutions designed to help you save time, connect with customers, and drive ROI. We are seeking a Digital Yield Associate.

The Digital Yield Associate will be part of the Digital Yield Management team overseeing all inventory aspects of The Weather Company's digital properties, primarily focused on supporting the Direct Sales team with inventory and pricing consultations. The candidate must understand the business model of digital advertising, have excellent analytical skills, and possess expertise in manipulating, analyzing and reporting on data from various sources and tools. The candidate must demonstrate a combination of business and technical skills with strong communication and project management skills. The qualified candidate must have a strong understanding of business processes, adapt quickly in an ever-evolving environment, and is capable of thinking out of the box and providing creative solutions.

  • Sales Support
    • Provide front-line sales support to national sales team
    • Review, support, and recommend improvements to existing media plans that maximize yield and revenue
    • Evaluate proposed digital campaigns and understand impact of booked business
  • Inventory Analysis
    • Use historical and pipeline information to forecast sales demand in highly requested areas and sponsorships
    • Provide inventory avails across multiple platforms and targets
    • Monitor avails and forecasting tools in order to ensure accuracy of products and functionality of system
  • Reporting
    • Manage and deliver certain inventory reports to business stakeholders



Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 1-3 years of digital media experience preferred in yield management, ad operations, and/or data analytics
  • Thorough understanding of digital advertising business model, digital pricing and performance models
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical capacity/problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with cross functional teams
  • Strong data manipulation, data modeling and analysis skills
  • Advanced Excel reporting and modeling skills
