The person in this role will meet the business’ need for new products by planning activities and managing risks to execute product development efforts on time, within assigned budgets, and meeting targeted product cost and performance requirements. The incumbent will also support BASF’s existing product portfolio within their assigned area of responsibility as technical resource

Formula for Success
  • Lead compressor lubricant product development efforts: execute test plans within defined timeline and budget constraints, meet reporting obligations, interpret data and adjust formulations to meet cost and performance targets
  • With Strategic Marketing and Innovation Management contribute to the definition and prioritization of industrial lubricant product development initiatives, set timelines and budgets and performance targets based on competitive benchmarks
  • Support product launch process by generating and compiling performance data packages, necessary data for technology transfer to production, regulatory compliance, etc.
  • Support Tarrytown lab operations with accountability for contributions to lab safety, equipment ownership and test quality assurance
  • Through Account Managers and other external interfaces, work to understand emerging customer and OEM performance needs in the market and how BASF can position itself to meet them
