Data Services Operations Manager - Technology Manager 3

Job Description

The Enterprise Data & Cloud Services production support team is seeking a highly qualified technology manager to lead the Microsoft Windows based Data Services operations team. This position will directly manage the resources responsible for supporting the Microsoft based Data Services including Microsoft SSRS and SSIS, NDM and Autosys.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Responsible for managing production support processes and personnel which will provide 24/7 support for the Microsoft based enterprise private cloud platforms.

• Working with various leaders, stakeholders, and partners to understand business requirements needed to prioritize and organize work efforts for enhancements to existing DataServices and Utility platforms to meet business needs.

• Responsible for ensuring SLA and availability targets are met as well as implementing strategies for improving targets.

• Responsible for managing resource allocation to multiple complex technical projects and work efforts that typically have conflicting priorities while navigating political and organization challenges.

• Manages a medium-sized technology work unit or one or two smaller, specialized work units with indirect impact to organization-wide objectives including managing shift scedules covering 24/7.

• Works on moderately complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of numerous factors.

• Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect work units directly and indirectly managed. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs, staff, and delays in overall schedules.

• Interacts with direct reports, customers and functional peer group managers.

• Typically has exempt and non-exempt staff on-shore and off-shore as direct reports.     

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technology experience
  • 2+ years of leadership or management experience, in a technology environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to manage a virtual or remote team

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Data Services and ETL tools, especially Microsoft SSRS and SSIS
  • Experience with managing production support for mission critical applications or platforms
