Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally.  Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

This position is within Corporate Trust Services (CTS) - a division within Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. 

Corporate Trust provides various trust and escrow services to markets including bond and debt trustee, business escrows for M&A and other required deposits, collateral for insurance related re-insurance and captive insurance trusts, trusts and qualified intermediary services for 1031 Like Kind Exchanges, and debt and agency services for structured finance and equipment and aircraft lease markets.

Responsible for selling Corporate Trust services within largest, most complex target market segments with the greatest revenue impact. Participate in conferences and forums as an expert and representative in trust services. Duties include calling on new prospects and existing relationships, proposals to clients, negotiating pricing, developing business development and marketing plans and develop business referrals from internal lines of business. Ongoing interaction with prospects, clients, referral sources, attorneys for new business and relationship development.  Will be focused on the specialized equipment and aircraft debt, securitizations, credit tenant lease transactions and owner trusts.  Activities will include interaction and involvement with other product areas of Corporate Trust.

***The Lease specialized business segment is based in Salt Lake City, UT, however the targeted market is national and international
***The preferred location is either in Salt Lake City or other major Corporate Trust locations
***Base + Commission role - Potential earning are based on the ability to drive business and revenue

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales experience

  • Corporate trust sales experience
  • Experience cultivating revenue generating customer relationships and self-sourced sales
  • Ability to diagnose customer needs and identify solutions
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
  • Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of corporate trust sales
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Superior problem solving and decision making skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with capital markets, public debt, middle and large corporate businesses, bank lending and relationship management
  • Established relationships with players and parties in the Lease business segment (specialized equipment and aircraft debt, securitizations, credit tenant lease transactions and owner trusts business segment)
  • Experience selling bank services and products and partnering with other lines of businesses
  • Experience in business development in the targeted markets and other referral sources

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
