Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Wells Fargo Auto Credit Risk Originations is seeking a strong Credit Portfolio Consultant who will partner closely with credit risk leaders, as well as stakeholders within Consumer Lending and Corporate Credit, to assist in the design and execution of new credit underwriting policies, procedures, and decisioning approaches.

As a member of the Originations Risk Strategy team, the main responsibility of this individual will be to develop and present enhancements to credit risk origination policy and strategy as well as post implementation strategy reporting and analysis. Further details of duties of this position may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performing complex, multivariate analysis to drive policy development and enhancement
  • Preparing written documentation clearly defining proposals and justification
  • Effectively communicating to Senior Leaders the impacts strategies will have on the portfolio
  • Collaborating with internal business partners to ensure flawless data process, analysis and accurate credit strategy implementation
  • Responding to requests for specific, customized reports and ad hoc analyses
  • Represent Originations Risk Strategy as a subject matter expert on various cross-functional project teams
  • Mentor other members within the team
  • Lead analytic project teams
  • Assist production of reports on loss performance of various credit strategies

Key aspects of this role will include working closely with business line and risk leadership across the enterprise. The ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and develop partnerships with business and functional areas will be important.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of risk experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • 2+ years of SQL or SAS experience

Desired Qualifications

  • A Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
  • 3+ years of credit risk experience
  • Outstanding problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years credit risk, finance, or credit portfolio management experience with a consumer lending product; auto preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and delivering presentations, with experience building consensus across partners in the business.
  • Strong statistical analysis capabilities, and experience creating large analytical datasets.
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Reputation for integrity, accuracy, big picture orientation and business understanding.
