Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. This (CA) position is within the Housing Team of GIB’s Commercial Banking Division.  The CA’s role is to support state and local housing finance agency (HFA) clients.  The housing CA is responsible for conducting credit investigations and analyzing complex and diverse credit information for housing finance agencies, and preparing financial, business, and program analysis for state HFA prospects and clients. Functions include: working with the housing loan team manager and regional relationship managers to assist with credit analysis, including collateral and financial analysis of the client; preparation of credit reports for credit approval purposes; assisting with Request for Proposal responses; and credit portfolio monitoring.  Responsibilities will also include full understanding and observance of all applicable bank credit policies and compliance requirements; preparing client presentations; performing research or analysis such as industry analysis; generating management reports and special projects.

Functions include: analyzing loan requests including analyzing borrower information/financial statements and collateral to determine ability to pay; conducting forecast analysis, preparing credit reports for review; providing support to calling officers or account representatives and coordinating activity in support of credit approval process. May provide training or review work quality for other credit analysts.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.



Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of credit analysis experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with structuring & negotiating tax-exempt credit transactions
  • Strong quantitative, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
