Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally.  Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

 

 

 

Our fast growing San Francisco Bay Area Life Sciences Division is looking for a Senior Relationship Manager (RM).  The RM is responsible for growing Wells Fargo’s presence in the Life Sciences subsectors of the Healthcare industry, encompassing BioPharma, Medical Devices, and Healthcare Technology.

 

 

 

This individual has primary responsibilities for developing, maintaining and generating revenue from a portfolio of clients and prospects of early stage Life Sciences companies. This person will cross-sell traditional banking products as well as capital markets solutions to existing clients and identify prospects to add to the platform. Additionally, a relationship manager will work closely with the team’s portfolio manager on proposing, structuring and closing credit transactions.  Partner with other Wells Fargo lines of business including Investment Banking, Treasury management, Foreign Exchange to best support each customer’s needs. 

 

 

 

Please note that this position can sit in our San Francisco or Palo Alto location, and limited travel is required.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements compliance program requirements.

 

 

 

Required Qualifications

 

 

 

  • 7+ years of experience in commercial banking relationship management, corporate banking relationship management, or a combination of both

 

 

 

Desired Qualifications

 

 

 

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience originating, structuring, and executing transactions related to corporate banking or other credit related products for the most critical or complex clients
  • 6+ years experience in a relationship management business where middle market clients are served through Wholesale product offerings (credit, capital markets, traditional banking solutions, etc.)
  • Extensive client presentation skills and experience and ability to develop strong relationships with client management teams
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills with some background in credit (eg portfolio monitoring, structuring capital transactions, etc.)
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
  • Proven ability to prospect and add new clients to the Wholesale banking platform
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment
  • Familiarity with the Wholesale banking product suite
  • Healthcare Industry experience
