Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally, with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Our 10 major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Insurance, Wells Fargo Securities, and Principal Investments. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

The Life Sciences Division is responsible for growing Wells Fargo’s presence in the Life Sciences subsectors of the Healthcare industry, encompassing BioPharma, Medical Devices, and Healthcare Technology.

As an RM2/associate, you will be part of a dynamic and growing group and have experience working with a relationship manager on opportunities for early stage Life Sciences companies. Transaction experience will include working on clients ranging from pre-profit to middle market companies. These companies vary in credit quality and financial structure complexity, as well as traditional banking product needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primarily support a senior RM on existing and new relationships, but may eventually take on relationships to manage in primary role
  • Help identify new prospects to add to the platform
  • Shephard cross-sell and credit opportunities thru internally and externally with support of senior RM and portfolio manager

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.



Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: underwriting, credit, relationship management, portfolio management, equity or venture capital investing experience; or successful completion of Wholesale Credit Management Training Program

  • Strong accounting skills and ability to analyze financial statements
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of initiative and accountability
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Healthcare industry experience



Other Desired Qualifications
  • At least 1-2 years of credit analysis, capital markets or relationship management experience
  • Experience with Capital IQ, PItchbook, Bloomberg and similar industry tools
