Control Team Specialist (Open to Remote Candidates)

About the position

The Control Team within TPA Management works to protects our customers’ data and drive an excellent experience at our Third Party Administrators (TPA). This is done through performing risk assessments, evaluating processes to identify emerging issues, as well as monitoring adherence to contractual provisions such as Service Level Agreements (SLA’s). TPA Management is looking for someone who is continually curious and is comfortable asking ‘why?’ and ‘what if?’ to drive holistic solutions that are based on an understanding of downstream impacts while appropriately mitigating risk. Individual Life Insurance’s TPA Management Team offers a unique opportunity for team members to learn end-to-end life insurance administration, including new business, policyholder servicing, death claims, problem management, risk and compliance, reinsurance, product development, and much more. The TPA Management Team oversees the work performed by three Third Party Administrators that also provides team members with hands on experience in the vendor governance life cycle. The skills developed in the TPA Management Team are useful in numerous areas in the financial services industry.


The expertise we are looking for you to bring to the team:

  • Proven ability to think critically and strategically with strong analytical skills to deliver innovative approaches and solutions
  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to change and being able to manage multiple priorities
  • Effectively evaluating risk and thinking differently to define controls that align with the level of risk
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization with clarity and build effective business relationships with internal and external partners
  • Collaborating and partnering with peers, key internal and external business partners and senior management

Additional Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Office proficiency with expertise using Excel and PowerPoint and experience developing reports and presentations
  • Life Insurance Experience Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational and documentation skills
  • Independent, flexible self-starter with proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables
  • Prior experience with Risk Management or Vendor Governance activities (e.g., Information Security, Privacy, Records Management, and Business Continuation) preferred
  • Travel may be required
