Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Enterprise Testing
Within Wells Fargo Compliance, this group provides an independent oversight function within the second line of defense, establishing and maintaining a consolidated Enterprise Testing function at the corporate level. They are responsible for developing a common methodology and standards, providing governance and oversight, executing testing; and conducting horizontal reviews.  Testing and validation teams throughout corporate risk will be responsible for implementing the Enterprise Testing methodology and standards, and executing group-specific testing.

The ET&V – Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), Sales Practice (SP) and Fair Lending (FL) Testing Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking a Compliance Testing Manager to manage the team’s testing activities. These positions will report to the head of ET&V – UDAAP, SP, and FL Testing COE and will direct regulatory compliance risk control testing activities for Community Banking.  This position will interact with the Regulatory Compliance Risk Management UDAAP Regulatory Proponent, Law Department, Business Control Executive teams, the Testing and Validation Center of Excellence, line of business Operational Risk and Compliance teams, other ET&V managers, Wells Fargo Audit Services, and other oversight groups.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage the development, implementation and monitoring of a risk-based testing and oversight compliance program to assure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and enterprise policy requirements for the ET&V – UDAAP, SP, and FL COE.
  • Developing an annual testing plan for assigned businesses and activities.
  • Collaborate with lines of business and/or functional support team management to resolve issues and address deficiencies.
  • Provide leadership, oversight and compliance risk expertise to risk teams and applicable business lines as part of the UDAAP and Sales Practice potential issue escalation process.
  • Develop talent and coach and mentor a team of Compliance Consultants.
  • Prepare management reporting and other related activities for senior leadership.
  • Provide support as needed for audits and examinations.

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.
     


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 8+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 4+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
  • 3+ years of management experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of banking: regulations, compliance, policies, process, and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
  • Ability to identify and evaluate trends, isolate root cause, and provide swift/thorough resolution



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience providing “credible challenge” to business partners when necessary
  • Knowledge of risk platforms used at Wells Fargo (RCSA, CRAS+, SHRP)
  • Compliance or Audit related certifications (e.g. CRCM, CIA)
  • Exposure to and prior testing and monitoring experience related to UDAAP, Sales Practices and Fair Lending
