Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Community Banking Review Standards (CBRS) conducts review activities (testing and validation) for Wells Fargo Virtual Channels (WFVC) products and services, and spans a broad spectrum of risks, including consumer protection, regulatory compliance, operational risk and internal policies. CBRS is located within the second line of defense and executes testing and evaluations to provide insight into the effectiveness of implemented, first line of defense business controls to assist the line of business with accomplishing their objectives as risk and control owners. With over 13,000 team members, WFVC serves Wells Fargo consumer and small business customers through digital (online, mobile, and social) and contact centers (phone, email, and correspondence). Over 32 million customers use our digital channels to manage their financial lives. Our customer-facing contact centers provide service and solutions to customers by phone, email and letter 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with approximately 450 million customer contacts annually. Wells Fargo is seeking a Compliance Manager to oversee review activities (testing, validation) for Wells Fargo Virtual Channels (WFVC) Digital. This manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing a risk-based review program of the first line of defense. This program will include review activities of all WFVC Digital lines of business across the U.S. and offshore supporting regulatory compliance, policy, and control testing, evaluation and monitoring activities. This manager will oversee a talented team of individual contributors who conduct review activities for WFVC Digital.  This manager will interact regularly with Digital senior management, Wells Fargo Compliance (Corporate Risk), Wells Fargo Audit Services, and other oversight groups. This review program will ensure consistency with our commitment to our customers, the Wells Fargo Vision & Values and risk appetite.

Specifically this leader will have responsibility for (but not limited to):

  • Leading and supporting the development and implementation of the CBRS program (testing, evaluating and monitoring) for the WFVC Digital line of business.
  • Managing a team of talented risk management professionals responsible for executing review activities.
  • Ensuring the review schedule is developed, maintained, and executed according to plan.
  • Developing and overseeing all aspects of the review program’s review procedures, scripts, protocols and documentation.
  • Overseeing Compliance Activity Reporting that is issued to the line of business and other partners.  Assisting with roll up reporting and escalation for senior management on results, trends, and issues identified during reviews.
  • Working closely with the WFVC Risk Management, Wells Fargo WFVC Digital line of business.
  • Recommending actions to reduce and manage risk and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining the appropriate stature and relationship with senior management to effectively facilitate discussions and resolve issues.

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.
     

Location: San Francisco, CA; Charlotte, NC; Minneapolis, MN; Shoreview, MN; Des Moines, IA. Other locations may be considered within the Wells Fargo footprint.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 4+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
  • 2+ years of management experience, or 3+ years of leadership experience

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Exposure to Wells Fargo s Shared Risk Platform (SHRP)
  • Ability to identify and evaluate trends, isolate root cause, and provide swift/thorough resolution
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • An active Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 1+ years’ experience leading or managing testing and monitoring engagements (Quality Assurance, Compliance, Risk Management or Audit).
  • Knowledge and understanding of consumer protection and regulatory requirements that impact internet banking, is preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Process improvement experience / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
