Wells Fargo Compliance is the company’s compliance independent risk management function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all front-line business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise.

This position is within the Financial Crimes Analytics (FCA) organization, a part of Compliance Technology and Analytics. FCA focuses on coordinating business data intelligence from a data and analytics perspective for customers, transactions, products, channels and businesses to support corporate BSA/AML, fraud, and customer due diligence solutions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

This Compliance Consultant 4 will join a team within FCA’s Bank Monitoring & Surveillance (BMS) team responsible for risk management activities including risk assessments, reporting, and model risk management support functions. The candidate will collaborate with domestic and international team members on risk initiatives, provide consulting expertise, assist in the design and implementation of risk mitigation solutions, and measure residual risks. The candidate will perform complex analytics on data, interpret and communicate results in an effort to advance the bank’s risk management programs. The candidate will work with internal partners, including model and programs owners, to ensure that regulatory and financial crimes risks are appropriately managed. The candidate may assist with SharePoint development for business solutions and be involved in report writing and other deliverables related to model and program risk management including projects and exam/audit engagements.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Knowledge and understanding of SQL



Other Desired Qualifications
  • SharePoint administration/development experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of anti-money laundering and the Bank Secrecy Act
  • Experience with Wells Fargo internal risk assessment tools and applications such as Shared Risk Platform (SHRP), Product Inherent Risk Assessment Tool (PIRAT), BSA Calculator, or Roles and Responsibility Agreements
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously
  • Technical knowledge of systems of records and data feeds
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist or other applicable industry certification
  • Experience with overseeing projects/work flow across a global institution
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical business partners
