Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.


The Wells Fargo Virtual Channels Risk Management team is the team responsible for providing Front Line risk management consultation and support to Wells Fargo Virtual Channels, including: online, mobile, social, phone, email, and chat.  This senior position is on the Business Support & Assessment team and will partner with the business to provide Front Line UDAAP risk management consultation and to maintain Front Line Virtual Channels UDAAP program documentation.  A qualified candidate will be someone who has consistently demonstrated risk management subject matter expertise and has demonstrated the ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization. Primary Front Line risk management responsibilities include:

  • Identify and assess UDAAP risks associated with WFVC Digital new/modified products and services, prior to implementation, in partnership with the business and other WFVC Risk Management team members.  Engage Wells Fargo Independent Risk Management (IRM) for authoritative consultation and credible challenge. 
  • Ensure WFVC UDAAP documentation is created, maintained and updated, in accordance with IRM UDAAP Policy requirements for Front Line businesses.
  • Document and communicate UDAAP risks in WFVC for analysis and aggregation by Wells Fargo Compliance.
  • Provide Front Line UDAAP consultation to ensure WFVC UDAAP risks and controls are appropriately documented in enterprise risk tools (e.g., relevant SHRP modules) and provide a periodic review of WFVC UDAAP content in enterprise risk tools, including responding to IRM credible challenge.
  • Participate in Front Line self-assurance activities relating to UDAAP; ensure gaps/weaknesses are captured in SHRP, root cause analysis is completed, and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Provide UDAAP input to WFVC Risk Management reporting to business leadership.
  • Provide Front Line input during the development of IRM UDAAP policy and processes, when requested, and provide feedback on policy revisions out for comment during the review period.


Preferred locations: Charlotte, NC and San Francisco, CA.  Open to any location within the Wells Fargo footprint

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
