Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Wells Fargo Compliance provides company-wide leadership and independent oversight to ensure that all business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet regulatory compliance responsibilities, and manage regulatory compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for regulatory compliance risk management activities across the company.

The Compliance Consultant 4 position will be part of Wells Fargo Compliance’s Policy Team. The Compliance Policy Team leads the development and maintenance of the corporate policy components of Wells Fargo’s compliance program.

This position will contribute to activities that assure compliance with applicable regulatory and internal policy requirements, including reviewing, drafting and editing compliance policies in accordance with a defined compliance target operating model, lead activities that assure compliance with applicable regulatory and internal policy requirements, and partner with stakeholders in Wells Fargo Compliance and the broader Wells Fargo community. Critically important in this role are strong writing, editing and organizational skills.

Specific duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to oversight, direction and guidance of all activities related to compliance policy management; including, writing and editing compliance policies to reflect changing business activities, regulatory developments and compliance risks
  • Coordinate the process for policy exceptions, exemptions and violations for Compliance-owned policies
  • Coordinate Compliance review of all corporate non-Compliance owned policies for compliance impact; liaise with applicable internal partners.
  • Review and coordinate to determine Compliance’s implementation requirement as a business; assist with drafting business procedures in coordination with appropriate partners
  • Assist with organizing the Policy Coordinator Community of Practice and serve as secretary
  • Maintain administrative logs and tracking sheets related to policy development for the Compliance Policy Team

*Preferred locations posted, however, open to other locations in the U.S.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • Ability to advise end users on version control concepts/procedures and create clear, written guidelines for common scenarios

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Detailed knowledge of corporate compliance programs and the financial services industry
