Program Overview

The Comcast Center Cooperative Internship Program (Co-op) is a six-month internship program based in the greater Philadelphia area. The program is designed to identify high-caliber talent to build our organization with the best and the brightest students who come from a variety of sourcing channels, including on-campus career fairs, partner organizations, and direct applications. In this role you will immerse yourself into the Comcast culture, working side by side with innovative and talented Comcasters. You will cultivate meaningful relationships and develop strong interpersonal and business skills that will set you apart from your peers.

Additionally, your experience will include:

-Engagement: Working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units at Comcast during your cooperative experience.

-Exposure: An inside look into the day-to-day operations of an organization at the cutting edge of media and technology.

-Professional Development: Exposure to a variety of professional development topics facilitated through our partners at Comcast University and senior leaders within the organization. These sessions include speaker series, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities.

-Mentorship: Mentoring from fellow colleagues through the Empowering Future Leaders Program (EFLP) to help you navigate your experience, provide coaching, and expand your professional network.

-Fun: Continuously develop relationships with fellow interns through social activities, community building, and networking.

Role Overview

With offices in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, New York, Denver, and London, Comcast's Assurance and Advisory Team (CAAT) is a partner to Comcast's individual businesses, including Comcast Cable, NBCUniversal, Comcast-Spectacor, and all corporate functions. CAAT performs projects (engagements) year-round to help these groups understand and manage risks to their business, financial and technology functions. In this position, you will be assisting in the planning, execution, and reporting on various types of technology and process related audits including: business process management and redesign, financial systems, technology operations (e.g., security, logical access), network operations, and technology infrastructure changes (e.g., new system implementations). Additionally, you will be involved with department initiatives such as ongoing risk assessments and advisory services to the business.

Your work in reviewing company processes, procedures, and controls help to identify risks, mitigations, as well as best practices that are incorporated into actionable reports to senior management and executive groups. Daily tasks may include:

-Participate in meetings with Internal Audit and Company management to assess risks across a variety of technologies including servers, databases, financial and operational processing applications, and network devices (e.g., firewalls/routers)

-Participates in reviews of business processes to identify opportunity to mitigate risks associated with process change and redesign

-Operates with a team in conducting, planning, and completion of on-site technical focused engagements at the corporate, divisional, regional, and local level

-Applies appropriate audit procedures to the areas reviewed to ensure that key controls are tested and all significant risks are addressed

-Prepare clear and well-organized audit or advisory documentation that appropriately represents the work performed and assist in the creation and communication of engagement specific recommendations

-Assist in developing formal audit reports and presentations for distribution to executive management and senior company leaders or board members

-Work with various members of the Technology Audit team to research existing and emerging technology risks, industry news, and control frameworks

-Actively assist with administrative areas of the engagements (e.g., budgeting, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements

-Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university that has a 6 month Cooperative learning track (Sophomores, Pre-Juniors, and Juniors preferred).

-Major: Accounting, Business and Engineering, Finance, Operations Management, MIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Information Systems

-Minimum 3.0 GPA

-Able to work effectively both independently and within a team environment

-Ability to balance workload, adapt to changing situations and priorities, and be deadline-oriented

-Strong interpersonal skills (inquisitive, able to connect and build rapport with others)

-Analytical skills required to assess risks on a real-time basis

-Clear, articulate oral and written communication skills

-Strong PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

-Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.

-Strong interest in the telecommunications, cable and media industries.

-Ability to work on a team.

-Authorized to work in the United States of America.
