Clinical Specialist

Job Duties

UCLA Child PEERS Programs:
1. Assess youth eligibility for participation in outpatient therapy groups for pediatric related disorders
2. Conduct group based interventions to patients through the UCLA Child Psychiatry PEERS Program
3. Work with interdisciplinary team to devise and implement group therapy sessions and individual patient treatment plans
Study Assessment and Treatment Provision
1. Act as Independent Evaluator by administering interviews and rating scales
2. Providing treatment plan to pediatric patients
3. Participate in the supervision sessions with IE supervisors and Therapist supervisors
4. Participate in relevant research activities, such as data management and manuscript preparation and submission
1. Return phone calls to families for whom treatment is being provided
2. Complete required paperwork for assessments and treatment sessions in both research and clinical settings
3. Perform other miscellaneous tasks as requested

Job Qualifications

Knowledge and expertise in Psychology protocols
Provide knowledge and understanding of psychiatric disorders and diagnostic status. In turn, interface with families with appropriate repoire and professionalism.
Ability to focus on needs of program, anticipate potential problems, and problem solve to ensure that problems are addressed and goals achieved
Knowledge of relevant psychological, medical, and psychiatric terminology.
Knowledge and expertise in treatment manuals/protocols pertaining to childhood disorders
Administer rating scales and other study related tools to families as necessary and with appropriate training and supervision
Skill in interacting with persons of various social and educational backgrounds and age levels
Flexibility in dealing with changes in workload or assignment, pressures of deadlines, and competing requirements
Ability to work consistently and accurately to complete assignments
Ability to learn and consistently follow program protocols and procedures and monitor quality assurance with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Skills in focusing on small details, & accurately performing repetitive tasks thoroughly and consistently, without omitting, forgetting, or losing items
Skill in working with large research team, as well as efficiently working with individual team members
Skill in working with word processing, excel spreadsheets, and data management programs on the computer.
BA in Psychology or related field, PHD preferred
