Client Partner

An exciting opportunity to work for one of the industry’s leading marketing attribution providers according to Forrester Research.  The Client Partner (CP) must demonstrate solid business judgment and sound strategic thinking.  The CP drives overall strategic direction and is tasked with being a marketing partner for the senior clients.  The CP must be an expert in the clients’ businesses and be the clear leader on the business with the clients and within the company.  This individual is responsible for identifying business opportunities and solutions on a regular basis.  The CP sets the tone for how the account is managed by assuring focus on key client objectives and delivering appropriate resources while maintaining profitability.

 

The CP manages a book of business that may be one larger client or several smaller clients.  To be successful, this individual is ultimately responsible for being the “ultimate” marketing consultant to the client and is charged with all general management aspects of the team, including team collaboration, team harmony, big-picture strategic thinking, and financial performance. 

 

Responsibilities

 

Development and Oversight of Accounts

  • Lead overarching strategic vision for your portfolio and its client base.
  • Views strategic goals in a broader business context
  • Define adoption roadmap for the usage of VIQ’s software.
  • Is in command of the business, “owns the role”
  • Defines and executes contract renewal strategies
  • Deliver revenue growth and contract renewal goals
  • Manage a book of business maintaining a strong grasp of account health, risk and growth opportunity.

 

Foster Strong Client Relationships

  • Builds trusting, collaborative relationships with clients of all levels
  • Map a client’s organisation and the key stakeholders
  • Builds plans to harvest and develop senior relationships within our clients organisation.
  • Stays on top of business and client concerns to head off issues early
  • Looks for opportunities to improve client satisfaction
  • Include VIQ Executives in appropriate client meetings
  • Encourages open, ongoing internal communication
  • Provide appropriate management updates and solicit feedback and direction when appropriate

 

Management and Training

  • Actively participates in management and training of account team personnel
  • Motivates the team to a high level of performance
  • Ensures account team members are challenged and developing their skill set
  • Demonstrates and teaches how to think strategically
  • Keeps the account team involved and excited
  • Exhibits a vested interest in successful development of team members

 

Communication

  • Is a good listener
  • Is able to craft a strong presentation
  • Articulates effective strategic rationale and logic flow
  • Is clear, concise, articulate, focused, persuasive, wise, responsive and confident
  • Able to think on his/her feet and provide business and strategic insight and guidance on the fly
  • Has a calm, rational, balanced management style and is able to help team strive for the same kind of professional posture
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

 

New Business

  • Contribute to New Business pitches when necessary
  • Develop scope of work in conjunction with new business representative
  • Lead effective transition of activity from new business pitch team to client team
  • Identify all up-sell opportunities with existing clients
  • Define and execute an up-sell strategy.
  • Can hit revenue growth goals across a portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 10 years of solid, progressive client management experience
  • Minimum 5 years in a marketing environment in an account, project or marketing manager role.
  • Experience in a digital agency or web consultancy preferred.
  • Has deep knowledge and experience with multi-channel marketing
  • Must be a natural leader who can collaboratively and effectively lead an VIQ team to generate measurable results
  • Must be a self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proven ability to interact with people at all levels of an organization, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork and results
  • Proven ability to think strategically, and the ability to teach others to think strategically
  • Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and client relationship building skills
  • Commitment to delivering creative solutions, and the ability to align team members behind creative solutions
  • Ability to adapt to change is a must
  • Doesn’t take self too seriously
  • Enjoys working hard, but also can create a “fun” work environment
  • High-level proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Requires up to 25% travel, mostly local
  • Start-up experience a big plus
