Client Deployment Leader (Tier 2)



The Client Deployment Leader (Tier 2) will be responsible for the overall delivery and implementation Nielsen Analytic Solutions & Products for global-leading CPG retailers and manufacturers. This individual is a proactive leader and consultant in charge of managing the overall program for large, complex client engagements, overseeing multiple workstreams, and successfully navigating cross-functional internal and client relationships (including senior and C-level stakeholders). Must be able to travel domestically and globally.


Responsibilities include:

  • Program Owner accountable for the successful delivery of large-scale client engagements
  • Manage all aspects of complex external (client) projects and/or programs (groups of projects) in order to deliver approved business capabilities
  • Act as single point of contact for the overall program
  • Develop and manage the relationship and communication with the client, at multiple levels
  • Definition of the overall program work plan/implementation including several releases of capabilities and  products (plan accounting for deliverables, dependencies, assumptions, etc.)
  • Formulation and ownership of critical project/program related documents such as Scope/Release Plan, Statement of Work, Contract, Change Requests, Risks, etc.
  • Leading and aligning a multidisciplinary team in the successful implementation of a web marketing analytics solution, both internal to Nielsen and within the client
  • Analysis of functional gaps and potential options/solutions – balancing the interests of both Nielsen and the client


Job Duties:

  • Partner with client service and technology teams to translate contracts into scope for the program and/or release, including documentation/acknowledgement of potential gaps
  • Coordinate and quarterback cross-functional teams to gain alignment on scope, approach, assumptions, dependencies, risk and budget
  • Coordinate with all stakeholders and dependent projects to develop detailed project schedules
  • Manage approved projects through the lifecycle, including change requests, issues management, risk management, status reporting
  • Coordinate project status with the PMO master portfolio plan; ensure programs are properly represented
  • Apply new techniques and methodologies, specifically agile, or adapt existing techniques and methodologies to solve project-related issues
  • Facilitate project meetings to resolve risks, issues, or requests for scope change
  • Oversee, develop or deliver presentations to various levels of executives, Nielsen and client
  • Assess the performance of cross functional team members within the program
  • Manage and coordinate other project managers (including Ops PMs) as part of program management
  • Budgeting, tracking actual expenses against Budget/POs/CIPs
  • Deep experience and detailed knowledge in all phases of the agile project management life cycle
  • Thorough understanding and support of PMO processes, policies and tools will be required in order to ensure that all projects are correctly managed and measured according to PMO requirements




  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience with hands-on program management delivery in external client engagements within the CPG Industry
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and globally
  • Excels at managing technically complex, large scale multi-geography programs
  • Innovative leader with strong facilitation and influencing skills
  • Proven record to deliver results on time
  • The ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively in both verbal & written communications; strong verbal and written communications to all levels of staff and management
  • Exercise initiative, discretion and judgment in making decisions
  • Respond effectively to individuals and promote understanding and partnership among them
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and skilled in:  teamwork and partnering; analytic/systematic thinking; self-starting
  • Expertise in the ability to facilitate communications between different managers and departments to resolve issues
