CBSS Preparedness Officer

We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or veteran status, among other factors.   The CBSS Preparedness Officer has proven skills and experience to contribute toward the success of the CBSS Preparedness program and its ongoing process to prevent, mitigate, prepare for, respond to, maintain continuity during, and to recover from, an incident that threatens life, property, operations, information, or the U.S. Bancorp reputation.  This individual will provide ongoing preparedness customer service support to our Corporate Support Functions, Business Units and Market Area leaders by providing trusted advisement, leadership, evaluation, and organization with developing, implementing, and maintaining processes to ensure continual operations in the event of crisis or significant disrupting incident. The Officer will also be part of a preparedness team that monitors the CBSS Preparedness strategies & methodologies to include all activates in support of the enterprise exercise program in accordance with established policies, procedures, and best practices. Provide guidance to ensure exercises are in compliance with company, state and federal preparedness policies and regulations.   • Support the U.S. Bancorp all-hazards preparedness/emergency management and business continuity/continuity of operations programs.
  • Train and mentor CBSS Business Line and Market Area leaders, coordinators and planners
  • Support and enforce the Business Line Response Team program practices and procedures
  • Outline and implement annual accredited preparedness response training program
  • Provide support during incidents, evaluate post-incident, and investigate all response incidents
  • Maintain working relationships with internal support & response leaders.  Support partnerships with external local, state and federal incident response agencies. 
  • Ensure all regulations are observed in relation to preparedness response policies and programs
  • Support of new policies and procedures for CBSS Preparedness communication tools and applications
  • Lead or co-lead overall efforts for the CBSS Customer Playbook (known as Playbook), including overall updates, quarterly business partner meetings and all other activist related to the Playbook.
  Qualifications  

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five to seven years of experience in an applicable risk management environment
- Applicable professional certifications

Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Ten or more years of experience in organization preparedness administration or incident/emergency management
  • Project Management training/certification
  • Degree/Certification in Emergency Management or Public Safety related field
  • Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) training/certification
  • FEMA Emergency Management Institute training/certification
  • Business Continuity training/certification
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and respond rapidly to incidents 24/7/365. 
  • Experience as a member of an on-call incident response team
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities
  • Effectively apply required knowledge to training scenarios and actual incidents
  • Demonstrated complete familiarity with and working knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS), National Incident Management System (NIMS), and the all-hazards approach to emergency management
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to deliver key information in a concise, logical manner to a variety of audiences within the corporate structure
  • Proven ability to work in varying situations, from committee work in which a “team player” approach is essential and to situations in which independence is required
  • Demonstrated ability to work with wide range of varying levels within the corporate structure
  • Ten or more years emergency response experience at a large facility
  • Ability to analyze technical and regulatory information and provide recommendations to site/regional personnel
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to lead teams – team members
  • Strong computer skills
