The Category Analyst, Corporate Services is responsible for the management of procurement execution tasks within the Corporate Services categories in support of Consulting, Technical Services and Financial Services across the sectors (pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer).  Primary responsibilities will include negotiation and execution of service agreements with varying complexity.  Responsibilities will also include sourcing strategy development, stakeholder management, supplier relationship management activities, and supporting project teams through competitive bidding and supplier selection processes.

  RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supplier Management: may have responsibility for performance management of key supplier relationships. Partner with key customers to address team support and performance issues with suppliers, data review and analysis, performance management and development and improvement of end to end value, and bring innovation to the business
  • Competitive Bidding: initiate and manage competitive bidding events.
  • Sourcing Strategy Development: Shape business partner strategies and meet business needs through providing external market insights.
  • Negotiation Leadership: Lead negotiations with suppliers
  • Category Execution responsibilities: development of service agreements, negotiate rate cards, implement change orders & work orders within category, analysis & analytical work in support of category strategy development, category management activities as directed by supervisor
  • Partners with Category Leads to deliver annual value improvements and drives competitive advantage. 
  • Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth commitments
  • Implements and administers standard Procurement policies and processes for multiple departments/geographic area, client group, or functional project.
  • Will have the autonomy and authority to make decisions for his/her category. 
  • Must have and consistently employ excellent communication skills, be results oriented and customer-focused.
  • Must have effective time management skills, ability to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives when necessary. 
  • Exercises judgment within scope in developing new approaches and resolving issues.


Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, life sciences or a related field is required. An advanced degree (MBA, Master’s Degree, Ph.D., JD, etc.) is preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years of business related experience is required
  • Demonstrated procurement or negotiating experience is required.
  • Project Management experience is a strong plus (PMP certification)
  • Salesforce, Ariba, E-marketplace experience is preferred
  • Experience with MS excel and ability to create V-lookups and pivot tables is preferred
  • Must have excellent communication skills, be results oriented and customer-focused
  • Experience sourcing of services (consulting and financial services) is a preferred
  • Experience working in a matrix environment is preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically is required
