Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally.  Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.


WFS Operations

Derivatives Confirmations

  • The Derivatives Confirmations department supports the documentation of the credit, equity, commodity, and rates derivatives trading for Wells Fargo Securities.  This group has offices in 3 US locations, and supports nearly 5500 clients across all businesses product lines, and multiple legal entities. WFDC actions approx 200 trades daily and responsible for the management and documentation of the trade lifecycle. 

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Team member is responsible for minimizing financial losses by identifying and resolving trade capture errors, reconciling trade activity between system of record and any trade-related documentation, ensuring all trade activity is confirmed
  • Responsible for supporting the complex US securities or over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives transactions.
  • Work with internal departments (various Middle Offices, Documentation, Marketers, Legal) to resolve all discrepancies
  • Cross-train future staff members to assist and independently perform daily Derivative Confirmations responsibilities
  • Consistently seek opportunities to improve processes, controls and procedures within the Confirmations team
  • Partner with the project team to develop requirements for system enhancements and assist with user acceptance testing

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of capital markets industry experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of loan, securities, and derivative products
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of OTC: confirmations drafting or reviewing
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
  • 1+ year of derivatives experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of Calypso, Imagine, Opics, Endur, and other mainframe trading systems
  • Firm understanding of derivative trading (Interest Rate Swaps, Swaptions, Floors, Caps, Commodities Cross-currency, FX, Equity, etc.) mechanics and payment reset schedules
  • Working knowledge of derivative products, trade amendment/lifecycle and/or ISDA definitions.
  • Self-starter and aggressive work ethic with self-discipline follow up skills
  • Experience with Scrittura platform is a plus
