Capital Markets Application Systems Engineer 3

Job Description

Most senior application systems engineer and highest technical expert playing the lead role in the development efforts for the internal and vendor deployed application systems that manage and facilitate trading activities for a major functional and/or product area within the securities businesses. Generates application engineering policies, standards and procedures. Lead, design, develop, test and implement the most complex design requirements, application systems components, tools and utilities, including the most complex modeling, simulation, and analytic development efforts. Plan, perform and resolve escalated platform coding and testing issues of a technically challenging nature. Responsible for defining opportunities across IT to maximize assets and improve processes while reducing cost. Ensures that system improvements are monitored to increase efficiency. Recruit, mentor and develop talent by setting appropriate goals and expectations for the team.  Responsible for managing the Prime Services client facing technology team, within the Capital Markets group.  Manage senior business and technology stakeholders to ensure technical platform operates efficiently.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 7+ years of securities industry experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • 10+ years of capital markets experience
  • 10+ years of change management experience
  • 10 + years of risk identification and documentation experience
  • 10+ years of Java experience
  • 10+ years of JavaScript development experience
  • 10+ years of JavaScript framework experience (YUI, Angular, Node)
  • 10+ years of JIRA experience
  • 10+ years of JMS (Java Message Service) experience
  • 10+ years of Tomcat development or implementation experience
  • 10+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
  • 10+ years of Oracle experience
  • 10+ years of technical documentation and publication experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in capital markets business and processes
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical modeling
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of SEC, FNRA, and international regulations for building technological solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of creating detailed requirements from abstract business policies
  • Knowledge and understanding of creation of high level designs, low level designs, process flows
  • Knowledge and understanding of full life cycle software development
  • Knowledge and understanding of prime brokerage
  • Knowledge and understanding of full life cycle application development
  • Advanced Microsoft Visio skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Project skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills
