Business Unit Manager - Immunology

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE To profitably grow a country organization by leading people and managing key functions and processes. Key RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review the local market place, ex. Government policy, demographics, economy etc. and assesses and extrapolate likely trends.
  • Evaluate the current competition and the potential opportunities/threats to ADC.
  • Encourage & promote market awareness in own team and organization.
  • Build and maintain close contact with Health Care authorities, Healthcare specialists, registration offices, diabetes associations, government, customers and other key stakeholders.
  • Maintain close contact with Regional Headquarter in updating local and market intelligence.
  • Encourage own team to build relations with the key opinion leaders.
  • Give clear guidelines on what figures/data have to be provided as input to the Plan.
  • Guide and prepare the creation of Plan package.
  • Adjust the potential plan to maximize growth of ADC products/market penetration.
  • Decide on the final sales plan in close collaboration with own team.
  • Ensure the plan is detailed and consistent and actionable
  • Present and “sell” the Plan to Regional Headquarter. Prepare and present budgets, reports and forecasts and ensure that they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Manage indirect expenses within Plan and approved Blue Plan spending without surprises.
  • Keep manager informed with regular updates on issue's and business performance Set up/develop basic structures and internal company processes.
  • Continually assesses the capability of the local/country organization to “deliver” the plan.
  • Challenges existing structures and internal company process Redesign the local/country organization to ensure its “capability to deliver” efficiently.
  • Set high standards of recruitment and selection.
  • Creates/communicates/reinforces a clear vision for the country.
  • Defines responsibilities and sets performance standards for own team.
  • Ensures a clear framework of responsibilities and standards are in place for the rest of the organization.
  • Ensures responsibility is devolved to lowest levels within the organization and staffs are empowered to take this responsibility.
  • Ensures all staff receives adequate training to enable superior performance.
  • Coaches and develops own team by giving honest feedback on performance.
  • Ensures development of all staff within the organization.
  • Motivates all staff by giving appropriate reward and recognition to major achievements of the key individuals and the entire team.
  • Regularly review all aspects of financial performance and performance of own team.
  • Analyze potential consequences of certain courses of action, ie. Model “what if’s”.
  • Investigate and explain unusual results, followed by corrective actions.
  • Maintain necessary contact with major suppliers, key customers, industry associations and government representatives to achieve the objectives of the division.
  • Develop and maintain rapport with Key opinion leaders in the marketplace to identify trends, competitor activities and new business opportunities.
  • Monitor the competitive situation.
  • Identify new markets and opportunities for ADC Products.
  • Develop/review marketing plan to enable the business to grow.
  • Ensures the sales team is focused on key are and deliverables of business.
  • Build close contact with key customers.
  • Proven sales track records with minimum 5 years of sales or marketing management experience in Healthcare or Pharma industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Our customer base is made up of people with a minimum of four year degree and most have advanced degrees such as M.B.Ch.B., PhD.
  • Ability to develop business vision, translate into strategies and actionable, realistic execution actions plus knowledge of territory and relationships with key stakeholders already established
  • Proven track record of successful leadership, management and coaching of teams and individuals, and in having developed talent and performance managed low performers.
  • Excellent working knowledge of healthcare environment and evolving landscape
  • Excellent knowledge of strategic and tactical marketing and sales principles and techniques
  • Operates and leads effectively in a matrix structure
