Business Manager, Consultant Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; New York, NY; Iselin, NJ POSITION
Dimensions of business management include (but are not limited to) financial oversight and control, project portfolio management, business performance measurement, process management, governance, communication and human capital management.
Business Managers drive the day-to-day execution of business planning activities across multiple areas and ensure alignment with business strategy.
Business Managers may also lead business management projects that help to adopt best practices, standardize processes and improve efficiency across multiple dimensions of business management. RESPONSIBILITES
  • Play critical role in providing key business updates. Partner with MDs across RCS to highlight accomplishments and key business deliverables
  • Identify and escalate key RCS issues, risks, challenges.
  • Partner with business areas to develop mitigation plans for risks as needed
  • Provide support on critical business initiatives directly impacting RCS operational and other success metrics
  • Lead monthly operating review discussions across RCS
  • Facilitate discussions with RCS business partners to problem solve on specific topics and areas as needed
  • Play primary role in absorbing information / data at varying levels of detail and storyboarding key messages across multiple stakeholders

Within assigned duties, defines and discerns key aspects of a problem then develops integrated solution within a broad technical context. Uses in-depth knowledge of TIAA- businesses and organization structure to ensure projects/programs are aligned with the business area strategy.
Approaches tasks systematically and independently adapts work activities and behaviors to support changes in requirements from stakeholders.


  • 5-10 years of years of Business Management experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years of consulting experienced required
  • Proven proficiency in storyboarding using tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word
  • Bachelor's degree required

PREFERRED SKILLS Extremely proficient in excel (data analysis, advanced formula)
Strong ability to story board based on metrics. Strong strategic agility. Ability to multi task and operate independently under strict time lines
Support reporting and analysis of key business metrics
Strong power point skills and strong communication skills
Strong project management skills excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to manage through influence - up, across and down.
Independent worker and problem solver.
Ability to manage change in a highly dynamic environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities/ projects and meet tight deadlines.
Strong computer skills, ability to understand metrics, and process map

Master's degree preferred
