This role will support the Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) Policy team and will report to the Enterprise Data Governance Policy Lifecycle Management Lead. The primary objectives of this team are to manage the planning, development and evolution of the EDG Policy, support its implementation, and assess and align enterprise data-related policies. During scheduled policy reviews and as related strategies (i.e. metadata, data quality or data provisioning) are maintained, the successful applicant will play a key role in driving the development of new content that reflects a deep understanding of the current maturity of the DMI organization as well as broader target state objectives. Success in this role requires collaboration, understanding of business operations and objectives, strategic and creative thinking, initiative, and an ability to drive change through influence.


•             Facilitate major and/or minor policy revisions driven by changes to the data strategy, regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, MRAs, etc.), organizational changes, etc.

•             Perform various policy management routines, including: requirements gathering, policy drafting, managing review processes and responding to stakeholder feedback, conducting periodic comprehensive reviews and/or impact analyses, determining areas for alignment with other policy groups, updates to internal processes, and managing EDG Policy communication plans

•             Support the Enterprise Data Policy Alignment team in executing internal processes to conduct timely reviews, provide feedback to improve, clarify or credibly challenge proposed requirements for other relevant policies in development across the enterprise, and conduct internal business impact analysis to identify risks/challenges to the Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) and DMI organizations

•             Participate in the definition, maintenance and communication of EDG Policy Major Requirements and control review guidelines within the Governance Management module of the Shared Risk Platform (SHRP)

•             Ensure independent oversight, monitoring, and validation through horizontal reviews to ensure mitigating controls are designed and operating effectively


The preferred location(s) for this job opening are Phoenix, AZ; Dallas, TX; Minneapolis, MN; San Francisco, CA; Charlotte, NC.  However, will consider other Wells Fargo locations throughout the US for the most qualified applicant.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years of data management experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management concepts and principles
  • Knowledge and understanding of data management concepts, process, tools, and environments
  • Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
  • Ability to work across multiple lines of business leading large scale initiatives
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial industry associated regulatory standards and agencies
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • SHRP experience
  • 4+ years of data management experience, which may include a combination of risk management, compliance, data quality or data governance experience
  • Ability to understand, design, develop and document data related polices, standards, procedures, and processes
