Wells Fargo’s Chief Administrative Office (CAO) consists of enterprise functions that work together to promote and protect the Wells Fargo culture and brand, and support our team members. Groups within CAO work to protect our reputation, tell our story, bolster team member engagement, connect with our customers, and bring new and innovative solutions to life. CAO functions include Commitment to Customer, Corporate Responsibility & Community Relations, Data Management & Insights, Human Resources, Marketing, Stakeholder Relations, and the CAO Integration and Planning Office.

We are seeking a senior Businesses Initiatives Consultant to partner with stakeholders across lines of business and enterprise staff functions in and the Lines of Business to support an enterprise-wide transformation program (Data Transformation Program). The Business Initiatives Consultant will report to program leadership in the office of the Chief Data Officer.

The Business Initiatives Consultant is a highly visible role that must work well with ambiguity and a wide variety of responsibilities in a quickly evolving, rapid-paced environment. The successful candidate will possess the ability to distill information from multiple sources and quickly develop recommendations that drive organizational alignment and accelerate enterprise data capabilities (even when the topic/subject area is new). Superior relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization (including data visualization) is a requirement along with a strong bias toward execution and getting things done.

Responsible for leadership of cross functional/virtual teams to strategize, plan and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives. Examples might include, but are not limited to: finance operational / executive management review coordination, process improvement and redesign, change management initiatives, ongoing oversight of a leadership / diversity / recognition / Q12 or general program oversight. Provides leadership in the integration /implementation of programs/services/initiatives with cross functional business partners, recognizing the significance of competing priorities and strategies, and adjusting as necessary. Develops metrics and tracks/evaluates performance of programs, services and initiatives. Ensures plans/programs adhere to appropriate policies and regulations.


  • Provide strategic consulting services to senior leaders on key program initiatives with an emphasis on longer-term technology driven initiatives that will transform the company’s data environment
  • Support the development and maintenance of program reporting, including metrics, detailed milestones, and program financials
  • Develop compelling program materials to identify dependencies and drive stakeholder alignment (e.g., distill program activities into coherent narrative that articulates the “what,” “why,” and status of the program)
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support program objectives (e.g., financial analyses, data synthesis, industry research, etc.)

The preferred location(s) for this job opening are San Francisco, CA and Charlotte, NC. However, will consider other Wells Fargo locations throughout the US for the most qualified applicant.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning

  • Ability to positively influence, motivate, and direct diverse teams
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology consulting in the financial services industry
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, LiveMeeting and SharePoint) skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a top-tier management consulting firm with a focus in business or technology strategy
  • Experience supporting large, complex transformational programs
  • Experience in a large bank or financial services firm, preferably a Global Systematically Important Financial Institution (GSIFI)
  • General knowledge of data management and governance strategy, infrastructure and tools
  • General knowledge of data architecture
