Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Wells Fargo Compliance is the company’s compliance second line of defense function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise.

Within Wells Fargo Compliance, the Enterprise Testing group is responsible for establishing and maintaining a consolidated Enterprise Testing program at the corporate level. Enterprise Testing is responsible for developing a common methodology and standards, providing governance and oversight, executing testing; and conducting horizontal reviews. Testing and validation teams are responsible for implementing the Enterprise Testing methodology and standards, and executing group-specific testing.

Conduct Risk Review (CRR) is part of the Enterprise Testing and Validation (ET&V) team which conducts review activities (monitoring and testing) across all lines of business within Community Banking; Payments, Virtual Solutions & Innovation (PVSI); and Consumer Lending (excluding Home Lending). CRR consists of a team of experienced and trusted consultants committed to evaluating sales and service practices to ensure trust of our team members, customers, communities and shareholders. We identify, assess, and mitigate sales and service conduct risk that may arise from inadequate or failing internal processes, people, or systems.

CRR is seeking an experienced team member to support governance oversight and reporting functions as a Business Initiatives Consultant 2. This position will be responsible for planning and executing a variety of programs, services and initiatives. Examples may include, but are not limited to, cross functional business collaboration, process improvement and redesign, change management initiatives, and general program oversight.  Works with functional management to influence outcomes, address conflict, and ensure alignment with Sales and Service Conduct Oversight business line objectives and vision.  Ensures plans/programs adhere to appropriate policies and regulations.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Oversee program process development:

  • Manage program materials and retention requirements.
  • Engage support partners to ensure operational compliance of program materials
  • Identify areas to improve internal tools, processes and efficiencies.
  • Provide leadership with updates as needed.

Management System oversight:

  • Develop and Oversee internal system for managing in-branch review program activities
  • Support training, system access and field application of review platform with CRR Consultants and Managers.
  • Partner with Sales and Service Oversight Team (SSCOT), Community Banking Centralized Supervision (CBCS) and Employee Relations (ER) to manage end to end process flow of issues identified from reviews. 
  • Engage with CRR Consultants and Managers to ensure timely escalation of SHRP identified issues to comply with corporate reporting requirements.
  • Update issue status timely as addition information becomes available.

Key Metrics Reporting:

  • Work with review activity data sources to identify key-metrics reporting.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly reporting to inform leadership.

Tools and Templates:

  • Develop and maintain review activity tools and templates to ensure a consistent and though review program that complies with corporate review standards.

Community Banking Projects/Initiatives:

  • Develop business cases for proposed initiatives to assist in the implementation/completion of Community Banking projects and initiatives (e.g., Line of Business transitions; WF Compliance Policy and Procedure implementation, etc.).

Presentation Content Development:

  • Develop presentation content for leadership (ex. Executive leadership and Operational Risk
  • Increase frequency of communication and create effective partnerships

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in business or management

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry: compliance, regulatory, or legal operations

  • 1+ year of risk management experience

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Community Banking.
  • Strong relationship management and internal customer service skills.
  • Ability to think both conceptually and detailed as needed.


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
