Autonomous Driving is one of the fastest developing areas of automotiveengineering. General Motors is looking for exceptional candidates to lead thehardware, software development and deployment for LiDAR sensingtechnology.  The candidate will be responsible for definition ofrequirements, design, analysis, development, testing and management ofengineering project for Autonomous Driving LiDARs where strong analytical andproblem solving skills, creativity, resourcefulness, adaptability, initiativeand independent judgement are involved. The candidate will exercisetechnical direction over other engineers or engineering support personnel andmay have work direction responsibilities over a small group with specificengineering objectives.
 
Some specific tasks are highlighted below:

·        Design Engineer for Autonomous Driving sensing(Lasers) including all elements of hardware and software

·        Develops laser technical specifications as wellas statement of requirement

·        Lead discussions with laser supplier

·        Leads formal design, peer, and quality reviews

·        Leads resolution of technical issues

·        Interfaces with lead LiDAR engineer and othersub assembly leads

·        Primary GM engineering interface with the lasersuppliers

·        Performs complex design analysis

·        Develops engineering designs

·        Plans and implements test and/or developmentprograms

·        Releases parts and subsystems for production

·        Stays abreast of new technology and competitiveproducts

·        Travels as required

    Required Skills

    ·        1+years of experience with Automotive LiDAR Lasers (fiber laser & laserdiode), PCB layout design

    ·        2-3years of experience with Autonomous Driving Sensors (Spinning and solid stateLiDARs)

    ·        5+years of experience in electronic component design

    ·        BSin Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering orPhysics

    ·        5+years experience DFMEA

    ·        Highlevel of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult

    ·        Thisposition requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regularbasis.

    ·        DFSSCertification

    ·        SoftwareControls experience
