The primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Director Commercial Information Management, are to: 

 

  • Hold accountability for recurring and project-related data and reporting deliverables to internal customers - primarily Business Insights, Reporting and Incentive Compensation;
  • Translate business needs into data business rules and requirements and ensure implementation through the data landscape and systems with IT;
  • Lead Reporting and IC business needs requirements gathering and oversee implementation;
  • Proactively anticipate data issues through strong understanding of BU data landscape that may impact sales, analytics, IC and reporting  stakeholder decision-making;
  • Ensure that all data and performance requirements to meet business needs are reflected in the contracts negotiated with third party data providers (SPs, GPOs, etc.) in partnership with Market Access and Contracting teams;
  • Provide guidance on the acquisition of third party data, including marketing data (especially web, email and other digital data) to support the business and ensure the data is loaded and made available for use through the BU Data Landscape;
  • Lead implementation of Data Governance processes with internal and external data providers to ensure timely, accurate and complete commercial data;
  • Manage the identification and implementation of KPIs and metrics to ensure third party vendor compliance to data requirements.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • B.A./B.S. with at least 10 years of overall experience;
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing data, especially digital (video, email, etc.);
  • Demonstrated understanding of logistics and distribution processes for specialty products;
  • Demonstrated project management experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to consolidate disparate business requirements into clear, concise documentation;
  • Demonstrated ability to understand pros, cons, and caveats/limitations of  third-party supplied data, as well as have an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of third-party players involved (i.e., HUBs, specialty pharmacies, marketing agencies, digital);
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data quality management and best practices;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relational database structures and practices as well as newer cloud based, big data technologies;
  • Proven ability to represent key subject matter to audiences with diverse backgrounds (sales, marketing, market access, analytics etc.);
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment;
  • Proven communication skills and ability to present ideas in a clear, concise and user-friendly language;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong analytic and problem solving skills;
  • Must demonstrate interest in data management, large-scale data modeling and business requirements gathering.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • M.B.A. or M.S.;
  • Three (3) plus years of experience working within the U.S. Pharma industry, developing centralized data strategies for specialty products (i.e.,  Oncology, MS, orphan drugs).
