About the position

TITLE: Associate Actuary (The Prudential Insurance Company of America – Newark, NJ)

DUTIES: Perform modeling and analysis in quarterly actuarial valuation for US statutory, tax, and PICA stand-alone GAAP with the International Insurance division. Perform modeling and analysis in semi-annual Asset Adequacy Testing. Participate in documentation efforts as part of the Model Affirmation and Model Review exercise. Perform User Acceptance Testing for several planned model enhancements to be performed by the PII Actuarial Modeling team. Preparing presentation materials on AAT results for use in meetings with Corporate Actuarial. Assist in writing AAT and RBC C-3 Phase Memoranda. Manage the team's Model Audit Rule (MAR) control set implementation including communication with PII Risk Management. Communicate effectively with partners in PII Actuarial Modeling, PII Finance, Corporate Actuarial, and actuaries in PII local operations.

QualificationsREQTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the position offered, or as an Intermediate Risk Analyst, Risk Analyst, or a related position. Must have three (3) years of experience with: life insurance and variable annuity products; financial derivatives; asset liability management; MS Access; MS SQL; MS Visio; MG-ALFA; Numerix; GAAP; dynamic hedge models; GMWB products; and user acceptance testing. Must have Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.
