Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

The Wholesale Business Intelligence Reporting team (BIR) is part of Wholesale Relationship Strategies & Insights (WRS&I), and provides Business Intelligence (BI) reporting support to all of Wholesale. The team functions as a key central BI reporting  function for relationship and sales growth, and provides insight into Wholesale-wide metrics and reporting needs, developing innovative BI reporting solutions to support business growth.  This team supports multiple transformational business strategies and initiatives in Wholesale such as Customer 360, Wholesale Relationship Management Foundations (WRMF), CRM and pipeline reporting, customer segmentation, product depth, and production analytics. Additionally this team supports senior leader presentations and ongoing reporting needs for Wholesale and its lines of business.

This highly visible role will be responsible for driving, aiding, supporting, and coordinating the formal implementation and maintenance of the WRMF BI reporting and monitoring within Wholesale lines of business, focusing on the following deliverables:

  • Establishing consistent standards for One Wholesale Pipeline approach that enables Wholesale and lines of business to continue to drive, track, and measure productivity, growth and the customer experience.
  • Monitoring Management behaviors to set clear leadership expectations and organizational discipline across the teams around the use of Pipeline
  • Ensuring  teams are consistently leveraging existing CRMs for Pipeline input and maintenance for meeting key deliverables
  • Creating Metric/scorecard views that help identify alignment to our behaviors and standards, which ultimately drives more accurate data and information
  • Building dashboard that collates all line of business pipeline information into Wholesale and line of business views, to provide leaders with the ability to track and address key sales behaviors

The Reporting Leader will engage the reporting team to collaborate with WRS&I team members including WRS&I’s large offshore team, multiple Wholesale lines of business as well as Wholesale Services, Technology, Finance, and other partners to identify, develop and execute reporting designed to better understand the business and our customers. This role will oversee the development of reports, dashboards, and production analytics for a wide range of audiences: from individual contributors to executive managers.   As such, they will be an expert at guiding their team in distilling vast information into succinct actionable insights, present that information with the story in mind, in a polished format that is relevant to the audience.  This leader will need to be comfortable leveraging imperfect data from multiple sources, both internal and external.  The leader will need to be able to execute a vision with loosely defined business requirements, and anticipate business needs that may or may not be explicitly articulated.  The leader will be responsible for creating a reporting blueprint and then guide the implementation of comprehensive, consistent, and effective reports and dashboards.  Further, the leader will support our critical efforts to strengthen our insights-driven culture as an integral element of our business model and practices.

This leader will also foster partnerships with other analytics and reporting teams across the Enterprise to continue to drive consistency in analytic and reporting structures, and explore new innovative thinking/ideas to be leveraged by the team. As such, the successful candidate will effectively use interpersonal and communications skills with tact and diplomacy, and effectively collaborate on projects. The leader will have an analytic curiosity, an ability to cultivate analytic talent and curiosity in others, a strong desire to dig deeper, and the ability to solve complex problems quickly and creatively.

This leader will drive a team of reporting analysts at varying levels in the execution of:

  • Supporting complex business activities  through developing best-in-class BI reporting solutions
  • Data-driven business process development (and technology process development in partnership with technology partners) to support the identification, monitoring, and reporting of KRIs, KPIs, and other metrics, including sourcing information for reporting;
  • Providing actionable reports and make strategic recommendations to Wholesale stakeholders based on thought-provoking and sound production analytics, both proactively and in response to business partners’ requests
  • Combining best reporting practices with knowledge of data, business, customers, and/or products/services/portfolios to “tell a story” in a form of reports/dashboards.
  • Assisting in socializing and training of stakeholders regarding utilization and role of reporting in business processes

The position’s location is limited to Charlotte, Des Moines, and Minneapolis

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
  • 2+ years of management experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with CRM data and reporting, Salesforce is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with BI reporting tools, such as OBIEE (strongly preferred), SSRS, Tableau, etc. with a keen ability to tell a visual data story
  • 2 or more years working with Wholesale businesses (relationship groups, treasury management, credit, product groups, etc.)
  • Ability to think strategically, implement, and deliver business objectives
  • Ability to coordinate completion of multiple tasks and meet aggressive time frames
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
  • In-depth understanding of Wholesale relationship structures and data
  • Experience leading reporting teams.
  • Strong desire and ability to creatively solve problems and strong prioritization skills
  • Ability to identify in efficiencies and opportunities to improve the process
