Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

As part of the Conduct Management Analytics team, the Analytic Consultant will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and execution of advanced analytics capabilities for the Conduct Management Office. The team member will be responsible for statistical modelling, text analytics, and ad hoc advanced query development necessary for the identification and resolution of conduct related risks spanning ABC, Internal Fraud, Ethics, Complaints, and Sales Practice.

Specifically, a successful candidate will:

  • Develop data driven analytics capabilities to identify anomalies, outliers, emerging trends and conduct risks across the Enterprise. Primary areas of focus include Internal Fraud, Sales Practice, Ethics, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, and Customer Complaints.
  • Leverage text analytics techniques to extract value and insights from unstructured conduct data.
  • Partner with other Corporate Risk and LOB stakeholders to develop, and enhance analytical capabilities related to Conduct Risk at the first line.
  • Assist peer strategy team with internal fraud/ethics/sales practice/ABC strategy development to identify team member behaviors that warrant Internal Investigations or HR review.
  • Participate in model development and performance monitoring for all CMA models
  • Partner with Corporate Model Risk to ensure alignment with relevant policies, guidelines, and best practice.

Preferred locations are Des Moines, Charlotte, Minneapolis, Phoenix or Portland; however, other Wells Fargo locations may be considered.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, modeling or a combination of both; or a PhD in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 7+ years of experience in analytics, modeling, or a combination of both





Other Desired Qualifications
  • 4+ years’ experience with SQL
  • 3+ years’ experience with at least one of the following programming/computing software: Python, R or SAS
  • Have experience using Teradata Aster, especially its Text analytics functions or SAS Text-miner
  • Had previous training/academic focus on natural language processing, text mining and text analytics
  • Experience in fraud, BSA/AML, investigations of financial crimes transactions or policy violations, risk management or compliance.
  • Experience accessing/acquiring Wells Fargo operational data for analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience leading advanced analytics projects.
  • Experience running data analytics against Wells Fargo data.
  • Experience working with Wells Fargo’s compliance policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in building partnerships, collaborating and influencing at senior levels and across lines of business as well as with Corporate partners.
