Enterprise Data Remediation (EDR) team members are an important part of the overall data management framework. Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. EDR exists to improve data capabilities and improve the quality, accessibility, and consumption of data across the enterprise by providing leadership and execution support for the assessment and remediation of data issues.

The Enterprise Data Remediation team provides four key functions to support the mission:

•           Support for Data Issue Prioritization

•           Data Issue Triage & Disposition

•           Data Issue Assessment & Solution Design

•           Data Issue Remediation (Solution Implementation)


The Analytic Consultant 4 will report directly to the Data Remediation Analytic Manager of Lending Products & Reference Data. 



Primary responsibilities within this role include:

  • Lead medium and high priority data issue remediation efforts for risk and regulatory reporting requirements, business data needs and business processes that impact the Enterprise.
  • Lead the in depth analysis and sizing of medium and high priority data issues, understanding the impact of each issue to Risk and Regulatory reports.
  • Drive the design of near term solutions where appropriate. Solutions may require solving for a combination of policy and process gaps, designing new tools / systems or enhancing existing tools /systems, enhancing or correcting reporting logic, modifying data feeds, and / or correcting or enhancing data controls. While ensuring that near term and long term solutions satisfy both the needs and requirements of the Regulators, and the data needs and strategy of Wells Fargo.
  • Drive the development of prototypes or proof-of-concepts as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (including but not limited to technology partners) to define requirements and drive the implementation of solutions that resolve data issues, meet business needs, and satisfy regulatory requirements (where applicable).
  • Provide data analysis support to audit and regulatory agencies, as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with partners across line of business, data sponsors, enterprise data governance, technology, operations, risk, finance, and project teams leveraging the lending products data.
  • Execute assessments or remediation plans as dictated by management, and collaborate with a team aligned against the same goals.

The preferred location(s) for this job opening are Phoenix, AZ; Des Moines, IA; Dallas, TX; Minneapolis, MN; San Francisco, CA; Charlotte, NC.  However, will consider other Wells Fargo locations throughout the US for the most qualified applicant.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
  • 3+ years of business systems analysis or design experience
  • 3 + years of experience communicating system vulnerabilities and remediation guidance to both technical and non-technical personnel

Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 2+ years of lending experience
  • 2+ years of SQL experience
  • 3+ years of process engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience with data analysis and documentation

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in one (or a combination) of disciplines relevant to the EDR data domain(s):
    • Onboarding / underwriting / booking processes or Portfolio analysis or Risk mgmt./analysis/reporting (and related financial regulations knowledge) or Data mgmt./governance experience in one of the following Data Domains:
      • Consumer/Retail Lending (highly desirable: Home Mortgage systems/data knowledge)
      • Deposits, payments, Treasury Management
      • Master and Reference Data (highly desirable: Hogan-CIS data/process knowledge)
      • Channel & Interactions and Marketing & Relationship Management
      • Commercial Lending
      • Credit Risk
      • Advisory Fiduciary Investment and Trust (Brokerage, Wealth or Investment mgmt. data)

  • Demonstrated ability to build partnering relationships across the company at all levels (persuasive, good listener and assimilator of ideas and perspectives)
  • Successful written and verbal communication skills. This includes the ability to synthesize data to present information to management
  • Track record of successfully managing deliverables, expert knowledge of data management and remediation concepts and practices
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with business units to implement processes/procedures
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize and operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; ability to deal with ambiguity and drive results often based on limited information
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk and regulatory reports or requirements
  • Experience driving design and process data solutions or enhancing data controls
  • 2+ years of experience programming in SAS, preferably including SAS to Teradata (or other database technologies) interfaces
