About the position

Prudential’s Enabling Solutions team is seeking a senior Agile Coach leveraging Agile methodologies and thinking across business and technology initiatives while providing the necessary coaching and guidance to leadership. The person filling this role will become a trusted advisor supporting the leaders and teams working on the US Business’s new portfolio of growth initiatives with the implementation of agile. This role ensures that Agile concepts and principles are adhered to by all growth initiative teams to ensure the appropriate performance and return on investment for the methodology. Incumbent is responsible for empowering one or more initiative teams to develop adaptive, iterative delivery with continuous feedback loops. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to coach multiple initiative teams of medium to large scale

  • Utilize techniques to foster collaboration, transparency and mindset change that enables lasting agile adoption

  • Ability to educate and mentor teams in the adoption of agile through the delivery of formal instructor-led courses as well as informal / customized working sessions focused on skill development for agile roles (e.g., Product Owners or Scrum Masters) or different techniques with the agile methodology

  • Contribute to the Agile Coaching Office overall strategy, goals and objectives

  • Develop, track and communicate agile team maturity metrics to provide insight to agile implementation and to evolve the agile team coaching approach to maximize the benefits of coaching

  • In partnership with the initiative leaders and team members, guide the development of product roadmaps, user story sizing, acceptance criteria definition, and the definition of minimal viable product, leading to continuous refinement and prioritization of the product backlog

  • Experience in implementing and optimizing the use of agile tooling to facilitate agile team execution and management reporting

  • Facilitate discussion, conflict resolution, and internal/external communication especially in support of identification of interdependencies, risks and resolution of impediments to deliver business value and expected outcomes

  • Provide direction to project activities to ensure successful implementation and support

  • Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters experimentation, creativity and innovation to help teams continuously improve and increase velocity

  • Ability to communicate, influence and partner effectively using strong verbal and written communication

  • Be an agile expert, embracing continuous learning and maintaining connection to industry agile through affinity groups or events

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Agile Team Coach working with Business and IT teams, implementing agile techniques such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean in different cultures and environments

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Scrum Master

  • Ability to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully implementing agile in large, complex, and dynamic, results-driven environments using best practices

  • Proven experience building strong working relationships and working successfully in cross-functional teams

  • Ability to quickly understand the scope of the agile team and identify key success and risk factors

  • Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills

  • Strong presentation, classroom instruction and facilitation skills

  • Enthusiastic team-player, team leader as well as a self-starter

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving priorities

  • Flexible, yet firm in approach to implementing agile

  • Proficiency with VersionOne, JIRA, Confluence and MS Office suite

  • Industry certification as an Agile Coach required

  • Industry certification as a Scrum Master required

  • Proficiency in the SAFe® or other scaled agile frameworks a plus
