Advanced Tax Analytics & Innovation Director

A career in our Innovation Project Management practice, within Innovation services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients’ tax departments redesign, redefine, and redeploy tax to be a strategic asset across the enterprise. You’ll focus on assisting clients incorporate increased automation in the tax reporting process, increase analytic capabilities through data integration, and create solid internal controls that will enable the Tax function to deliver better quality output and contribute more strategically to organisational decision making. Our team is responsible for strategic market priorities such as improving communication and process improvement initiatives to achieve innovative, optimise d, cost effective, and efficient models for delivering service to our clients.

Responsibilities

As a Director, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively lead the practise by setting strategy, drive the development of new business in the market, and provide technical advice across disciplines
  • Building strong networks within the firm to spot and capitalise on opportunities to get involved in projects that others are leading across a number of different business units and sectors
  • Identifying and discussing key issues with our clients to identify potential opportunities
  • Responsibility for a majority of day to day client communications
  • Responsibility to shape and deliver various projects that exceed the expectations of our clients and our own assignment quality criteria
  • Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team
  • Responsibility for management of engagement financials
  • Helping to grow and develop our team through hands on training and coaching

Job Requirements and Preferences:

Bachelor Degree

Minimum Years of Experience: 
8 year(s) 

Certification(s) Required: 
CPA, Admission to the Bar, or one of the following; Enrolled Agent, Professional Certification in Project Management (PMP), Six Sigma Black Belt/Lean Black Belt/Master Black Belt, Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), SAP Certified Professional, Oracle Certified Professional, PhD - Computer Science/Information Science or STEM Equivalent, Professional Certification in Project Management (PMP),Six Sigma Black Belt/Lean Black Belt/Master Black Belt, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA), Certified Software Tester (CSTE), UX Certificate - Nielson Norman Group, Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or equivalent institutional Data Science Program, Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Additional Educational Preferences: 
Other technology or tax technology related fields of study may be considered. Significant experience may compensate for this desired requirement.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills: 
Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in the following areas: 
- Building, deploying, and commercializing software using data analytics, visualization, block chains, artificial intelligence, data mining, and/or machine learning; 
- Taking technology to market; 
- Demonstrating passion for emerging technologies such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, cognitive interfaces, Internet of Things, and emerging business practices such as the collaborative/sharing economy, social commerce, emerging data-driven and mobile business models; 
- Leveraging knowledge of the U.S. market, business practices, and the technology sector; and, 
- Demonstrating experience in a professional services or technology firm.

Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in the following areas:
- Developing digital projects, release planning, creating roadmaps, and managing and creating backlog/requirements utilizing prioritization planning; 
- Creating competitive analyses for potential products to drive appropriate segmentation approaches, to develop preliminary business cases, and to refine them all as emergent information arises; 
- Managing multidisciplinary product teams and collaborating with designers, business users, and developers to innovate and drive product development; 
- Working with high level UX principles such as user stories, pretotype/prototype development approaches, information architecture, and customer/product research methodologies (e.g., A/B testing and MVT); 
- Designing engaging user experiences for desktop, web, or mobile apps; and, 
- Combining strategic thinking with tactical execution as well as a passion for project management.
