As an Account Manager in Nielsen’s Local Television Client Solutions division and specifically Account Management team, you will help clients make informed decisions about their business through data-supported arguments.   Working primarily with Nielsen Local Television DMA  data and software, you will be responsible for all aspects of Basic Ratings service, methodology and changes for your clients.  You will be expected to work both individually and in tandem with your counterparts and Nielsen Management team to provide expert solutions and service to each one of your clients.   Nationwide client base includes TV stations, cable systems, consultants and broadcast associations in the US.   This job specifically focusses on a very large and important client.


Job responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Nielsen connection for NBC Corporate teams focused on the Owned and Operated NBC and Telemundo stations.
  • Pro-actively  work with the CBS clients to check in, ask questions and see what they need   
  • Answer all CBS questions with help from various Nielsen departments
  • Explain new methodology and help clients understand the data as new measurement becomes available
  • Help clients find ways to use new data and Nielsen tools to grow their business
  • Manage all aspects of Basic service and methodology changes including education and analysis for client
  • Engage with all levels of station management as necessary– Research, sales, creative services, news
  • Pro-actively share thought leadership pieces, Communications, NielsenWire posts and anything else that would be helpful – i.e. Comparable Metrics, Total Audience, Local Watch Report, etc.
  • Utilize SalesForce for strong coordination between Account Sales  and Account Management
  • Coordinate with Analytics, Product and other departments to makes sure decks answer questions and take the lead on walk through with clients on methodology / ratings questions.
  • Keep ears/eyes open to identify opportunities to help grow the client’s business, address needs, create new solutions 
  • Work with Nielsen Local Managers on any contract terms or issues.



  • 4 year college degree
  • Experience at a television station, agency, cable entity, Nielsen or related company
  • Demonstrated knowledge utilizing Nielsen data, products and methodology.
  • Technical proficiencies in business software including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to write cohesive client letters and make presentations to small to medium sized groups.
  • Strong business communication, writing, analytical, presentation and organization skills.
  • Desire and proven ability to work in a team
  • SalesForce knowledge will be helpful
