Job Description

We are seeking someone for a senior level commercial loan administration role. Our group specializes in providing financing for multi-unit branded hotel operators that have a regional or national presence.. We make commercial real estate and/or equipment loans, corporate loans, and participate in or lead large loan syndications. Transactions range from $10MM to $200MM.

Responsible for a variety of pre-close and post-close activities for complex commercial and commercial real estate loans. Responsibilities include the coordination of all aspects of loan closings; from performing customer, loan, and regulatory diligence through the settlement and disbursement of loan proceeds. Responsible for ongoing portfolio maintenance and ensuring loans are closed in compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Works with line of business partners and interfaces with syndicated loan members. This Team Member also works closely with our underwriting staff and outside counsel throughout the due diligence, documentation, and closing process. May review or prepare certain loan documents. Responsible for procuring and reviewing due diligence materials, such as organizational documents, good standing certificates, UCC and related lien pre-searches and post-searches, certificates of insurance, leases, title work, environmental information, acquisition documentation, and other due diligence materials. Prepares escrow instructions and is responsible for coordinating signatures, notarization, and delivery of Loan Documents. Orders and assesses flood determinations in compliance with the bank’s Flood Compliance Policy and FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (“NFIP”) Guidelines. Other functions include review and/or maintenance of Closing Checklists; review, organization and maintenance of master collateral lists, electronic data and loan file management; preparation of the Lender’s Settlement Statement; collection, review and processing of invoices related to closing disbursements. This Team Member will also work with external and internal resources to resolve and clear post-closing document exceptions and may prepare lien releases for paid obligations. This Team Member may be involved with special projects and periodic audits of loan files, from time to time.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial loan closing experience, commercial loan administration experience, or a combination of both

Desired Qualifications

  • Commercial loan documentation, preparation, or review experience
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels; where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the principles of real property, personal property, and contract law. Prior real estate paralegal encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with title searches/insurance.
  • Familiarity with FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (“NFIP”) Guidelines and bank policy regarding flood compliance.
