Warehouse Operations Manager

Monsanto is seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Warehouse Operations Manager supporting the US Row Crops Logistics operations. This is an exciting and challenging role in a fast-paced and team-based environment that requires extensive collaboration with colleagues and a willingness to shift and expand responsibilities as needed to ensure business goals are met. The successful candidate will have a passion for data and analytics, excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships. Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for gathering and interpreting relevant data, and analyzing performance of 3PL warehouses.
  • Develop, identify and monitor KPI’s and metrics related to warehouse operations – warehouse scorecard.
  • Distribute and/or present cost and performance metrics to key stakeholders and leadership.
  • Monitor warehouse capacities to identify and evaluate potential constraints and bottlenecks in the operations.
  • Provide monthly shipping forecasts to warehouses to plan labor needs.
  • Investigate problems, find root causes, and develop solutions. Ability to lead and coordinate efforts across functions to identify solutions and make necessary adjustments.
  • Aid in development of US Warehousing Logistics budget and LRP to ensure costs of operations are aligned to support company objectives.
  • Generate and update SOPs related to Warehouse Operations.
  • Provide training as needed to seed warehouses on Monsanto requirements.
  • Support manufacturing and planning activities needed at warehouses. To include quality sampling, relabeling, returns processing, seedpak washing, pallet repair and others as need is determined.

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Agriculture, Business or related area.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in supply chain, operations, logistics, commercial, manufacturing, planning, or agriculture business experience.
  • Broad range of computer skills— Access and other database, spreadsheet, statistics applications, logistics software packages, Outlook, etc. Ability to learn other applications quickly.
  • Strong results orientation and decision making skills. Ability to act in solving problems using analytical approaches while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues, even when dealing with sensitive topics.
  • Strong agility skills. Ability to respond quickly and in an orderly manner to changing business needs and to provide alternatives.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and decision making skills.
  • Ability to focus and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Masters Degree in Supply Chain or Business.
  • Experience in SAP and Spotfire.
  • Project management experience and the ability to develop relationships and open lines of communication within all required internal and external networks.
  • Knowledge of the seed cycle from production through distributor / dealer network.
  • Knowledge of warehouse execution systems.
