  This position will work closely with various back office operational departments of U.S. Bancorp Investments, a registered, self-clearing broker-dealer, including, but not limited to, P&S, Settlements, Funding and Accounting Control in performing analysis on operational efficiencies and providing metrics related to adherence to industry best practices. 
Relevant duties may include: 
  • Create and implement on-going cost analyses of third party vendor invoices and organizational costs. The goal will be to contribute data and recommendations for cost savings, best practices and possible review of operational approach or systems utilizations. 
  • Utilize data tools to produce meaningful department projects
This position will be responsible for
  • Analysis of work and process flows within certain operations departments and documenting of those flows in both narrative and graphic form
  • Analysis of business costs and expenses allocated to Operations with the goal of recommending cost savings, best practices and management review of vendor expenses
  • Small project management or analytical assistance on projects within the departments
  • Coordination and interaction with other departments within USBI and the larger U.S. Bancorp enterprise, as needed
  • Creation of metrics, trending reports and charts
  • Presentations to senior management

  Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Exceptional data mining, formatting, excel, charting and report creation skills
  • Strong, generalist understanding of broker-dealer business and operations
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • 8+ years of broker dealer operational experience preferably in a self-clearing environment 
  • Must have exceptional data mining, formatting, excel, charting and report creation skills
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present to groups and to management
  • Ability to interpret and relate costs to underlying business practices
  • Able to work with multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  •  Assertive personality, comfortable tackling difficult issues and asking questions
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office, intermediate to advanced skills using Excel
