U.S. Bank Business Process Analyst - Data Governance

  The HR Business Process Analyst will support the application of data governance principles and disciplines in the Human Resources (HR) organization in accordance with the Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) program. The role will be responsible for meeting established goals of the program, adhering to EDG policy requirements. It is expected candidates will have a solid background in data architecture concepts and data governance tooling, analysis skills, communication and problem solving skills.  A strong candidate will have a robust understanding of data governance concepts, technical/functional of systems, regulatory environment and expectations. An ideal candidate will have experience applying these concepts to HR data delivery activities, both internally (e.g. bank systems, employees and managers) and externally (e.g. third parties).  Specifically, the role will:
  • Manage HR processes related to information security initiatives including, but not limited to, Data Loss Prevention, Insider Threats, risk assessments, establishing systems of record and provisioning points, control documentation, access role reviews and application repository reviews (ie. inventory of systems used by Human Resources).
  • Manage HR's High Risk Report activities, facilitating inventory review/maintenance and documenting of data flows, controls and control assessments.
  • Represent HR in EDG meetings (e.g. policy, oversight, security and working groups).
  • Review data-related policy and identify impact to HR program processes and documentation, updating accordingly (e.g. Canada Data Protection Policy, eGRC Policy, Privacy and Data Protection Policy, Tools and Models).
  • Identify strengthening opportunities to ensure HR's compliance with EDG Policy and Guidance.
  • Maintain, strengthen and advise on HR's Systems Access & Data Protection Guidelines.
  • Establish and analyze data governance related Key Performance/Risk Indicators for HR.
  • Account for nuances in European General Data Protection Regulations in routine activities.
  • Facilitate bi-monthly HR Data Governance meetings to inform HR of data governance policy, activities and coordinate work requiring HR's efforts.
  • Facilitate monthly HR information security and policy review meetings. 
  • Build relationships and partner with constituents within Human Resources, Operational Risk Management, Technology and Information Security.
  • Manage program and procedure documentation related to activities noted above.

  • Advanced project management/business analysis knowledge, familiarity with the business line processes and/or application as well as advanced understanding of Data Governance principles.
  • Incumbent generally has 4-5 years or Data Governance or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
