Transportation Manager
The Transportation Manager is to be fully engaged in providing the highest level of logistics service and brand experience for dealer delivery of assigned region and/or brand from all shipping locations serving this region. They are responsible for understanding the specific needs of the region and working across functions to ensure product is available and ready to ship in a timely manner and that delivery targets are met.

Key responsibilities include:
Plan all transportation service to customers utilizing projections and predictive tools and regional customers' and market knowledge including segmentation.
Gain efficiencies while balancing service to customers. Direct responsibility for decisions related to his/her regions.
Manage monthly, quarterly and yearly delivery targets. Partner with manufacturing, demand planning and operations to achieve these goals. Develop contingency plans if needed across other regions, brands and/or crops.
Provide leadership and training and day to day direction to assigned contractors and all shipping locations servicing the region.
Knowledge of customers' base in his/her region and manage customer feedback for purpose of designing continuous improvement strategies.
Understand total cost of delivery and function impacts.
Route and truckload optimization to drive truckload utilization, cost per unit, miles per delivery and customer satisfaction. Actively seeking shipping opportunities in assigned region.
Fully accountable for optimization of the transportation process. Understanding impacts of efficiency, customer requirements and costs. Develops the guidelines.
Regional carrier capacity/fleet management responsibility. Interaction with freight manager when required to increase/decrease carrier capacity.
Partner with plants, warehouses and terminals to manage dock capacity/dock flow. Make the call to extend hours when appropriate.
Coordinate recall/retag efforts when needed and confirm all product has been returned/retagged.
Establish returns process for your region. Train and implement.
Determine appropriate service level for large accounts within your region.
Identify direct ship opportunities. Change source location if needed to aid in direct ship process.
Coordinate dealer to dealer transfers within and outside of region if needed.
Active Participation in Transportation Planner Network to ensure consistent processes, best practices and optimal logistics service level.
Track and maintain performance data for assigned region (% shipped, dealer segmentation, % summer vs winter and etc).
Interact with Team Leads & Customer Operations Specialists and participate and contribute in POD meetings and fully represents regional needs.
Track past due deliveries and follow-up as needed.
Provide leadership and COS training explaining delivery process, minimum delivery size and carriers.
Full accountability of going to partial deliveries, pallets and LTL as well as all associated costs.
Evaluate and implement regional specific logistic processes.
Ensure transportation processes are standard and in compliance with internal guidelines, documented and evergreen. Maintain documented procedures and processes for all critical transportation operations.
Fully responsible for active participation in the Product Availability Team (PAV) meetings to provide status of planned and completed shipments and status of attaining quarterly shipping targets.
Plan all transportation service to customers utilizing projections and predictive tolls and regional customers’ and market knowledge including segmentation.
Process expert for logistic systems.

Required Skills/Experience:
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Planning, Agriculture, Engineering, Business, or related area
• Minimum of 4 - 7 years’ experience
• Strong decision-making and problem solving skills-capability to act in solving problems using analytical approaches
• Ability to multi-task and define priorities
• Flexibility to respond quickly and in an orderly manner to changing business needs and provide alternatives
