Training Manager

The primary responsibilities of this role, Training Manager, are to: 

 

  • Be responsible for planning, organizing, managing and implementing Clinical Development Operations (CDO) training and learning initiatives as outlined in the training and learning management strategy in consultation with the Head of Training, Change and Communications, Senior Training Managers, and with the Global Clinical Development Learning Academy (GCDLA);
  • Subject Matter Expert in ICH-CGP, local legal/compliance requirements, applicable quality documents and Global Clinical Development (GCD) processes;
  • Remain current in developments and regulations within the industry, globally and locally;
  • Be responsible for understanding and identifying training needs to ensure optimal quality and compliance within CDO. This includes identifying needs based on global functional processes, audit/inspection findings, etc;
  • Collaborate with the Head of Training, Change and Communications and other functional CDO Heads as applicable;
  • Responsible for updating training materials and learning programs ensuring they are always aligned with current quality documents and processes;
  • Manage and oversee New Hire training and ensure the New Hire is assimilated into the Global Clinical Development Operations (GCDO) organization effectively and in a timely manner;
  • Oversee applicable training programs within CDO, e.g. Peer Resource Program, Mentoring Program, etc;
  • Coordinate and facilitate CDO training meetings;
  • Assist the Head of Training, Change and Communications function and CDO Leadership Team with planning and organizing CDO meetings;
  • Develop and deliver training material as required, in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts;
  • Be aware of CDO Staff training compliance to ensure completion of all training within the required timeframes;
  • Ensure proper tracking and accurate documentation of all training, In collaboration with CDO Managers and Clinical Development Learning Academy (CDLA);
  • Participate in relevant CDO Expert Working Groups to maintain expertise within GCD processes and tools.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with eight (8) years of relevant healthcare experience including five (5) years of relevant clinical development or clinical operations experience;
  • In-depth knowledge (Subject Matter Expert) of clinical development and drug development process, Global Clinical Development processes, ICH-GCP, applicable legal, compliance and regulatory requirements;
  • Knowledge of or desire to learn training and learning methodologies and adult learning theory key;
  • Possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • Possess motivational, communication, and analytical skills;
  • Effective administrative and technical skills;
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills in relation to both internal and external colleagues.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Monitoring/site management experience.
