Territory Account Manager, Intermediates - Central US

******This position is a field position covering the Central US territory, including states such as Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. The preferred candidate will live in the Nashville, Tennessee area or in the vicinity of Nashville, with in one hour of a major airport. The Intermediates division is seeking a Territory Account Manager for the Central US region who will consistently drive and find new business opportunities and strive to support organic growth targets.   • Manage account maintenance and growth of existing customers, while anticipating future growth potential and realize those opportunities.
  • Identify new customers in the regional territory to support organic growth targets.
  • Negotiate prices and contracts with all customers in the territory.
  • Prospect for new business within dedicated sales region.
  • Increase market intelligence by bringing information about industries, competitors and customers back into the organization.
  • Support implementation of business strategy by translating into respective account plans for respective accounts. Improve understanding of market / customer needs by penetrating the customer beyond procurement.
  • Build a strong network with the customers and internal stakeholders (R&D, technical service, marketing and business management).
  • Work together with Business Development and Marketing Managers to identify other key customers and develop a strategy for capturing new business opportunities.
  • Manage lead generation and closing of new business opportunities.
  • Create account specific strategic plans and drive the implementation of plan.
  • Implement customer segmentation and business rules.
  • Be responsible for: call reports, weekly and monthly reports, reporting of any key intelligence data collected, lead documentation, price, and margin management of customer portfolio.
  • Be required to business travel 50-60% of your time.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering or a related technical field with 8 years of customer-facing experience OR Master's degree with 5+ years of customer-facing experience
  • Chemical Industry sales experience is a strong asset
  • Proven track record of successful customer interaction; relationship building and sales performance
  • Requires strong customer focus, innovativeness and strong negotiation skills
  • Solid commercial and financial acumen
  • Must possess large account management planning skills, clear and effective communication skills and effective presentation skills to effectively sell with a concentration in value pricing
  • Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 40-60% of time, primarily domestic, and work remotely
