System Administrator Mid (Government)

The System Administrator will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of multiple production systems across multiple domains.

Duties include:
  • Perform weekly maintenance of Windows servers and hosted software
  • Work with Tier 1 personnel to resolve incidents and provide engineering solutions to escalated incidents.
  • Train Tier 1 administrators on the complexities involved in monitoring, diagnosing and escalating incidents that occur on critical operational servers.
  • Create and update SOPs for Tier 1 and define requirements for new features and improvements for Tier 3 engineers.
  • Provide periodic on-call support during nights and weekends.



  • BS in Computer Science or related field or significant hands-on experience
  • 4+ years of Windows Systems Administration experience with progressively complex responsibilities over the time period
  • 2 years of Hands-on experience with installing, configuring and updating Windows 2012R2
  • 2 years of experience as systems engineer responsible for writing requirements, developing and executing non-production validation of prospective O&M activities, and technical training
  • Communicate effectively in written and oral forums.
  • Write functional PowerShell scripts.
  • Willingness to work in Northern Virginia (west of Tysons Corner up to and including Dulles Airport Vicinity)

Required Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly

Desired:
  • Familiarity with and on-stick experience with Linux
  • Working knowledge of VMWare ESXi and VSphere
  • ITIL certification
  • Ability to lead technical teams
