Where the Chemistry Happens… We have a great opportunity for a Strategic Business Analyst to join our team and to be responsible for the strategic market analysis, special projects, and financial analysis and reporting for NC/D, Corporate Distribution. The Corporate Distribution Sales Support team is responsible for supporting the distributor sales channel activities of seven BASF business units (EM: Care Chemicals, CI: Intermediates, CM Inorganics, EV: EVJ (Lubs & Metal), EVH (Mining), EVF / EVK (Plastics), CP: Acryl Monomers, Oxo's, Palatinol® Plasticizers and Specialty Monomers, EN: Human Nutrition, ED Coatings and EDP Pigments) at approximately $400m Net Sales.   • Analyze distribution pricing to evaluate market relevant pricing.
  • Develop process to communicate authorized pricing to distribution Network.
  • Participate in Strategic Projects for Distribution, involving market engagement and development.
  • Assist in scouting of distributors, assessing capabilities, and documenting knowledge of the North American distribution landscape.
  • Prepare and develop of Market Intelligence Reports.
  • Assist in the development of distributor sales and marketing tools.
  • Provide analysis, guidance and recommendations to sales and marketing groups with financial planning, control, analytical and advisory services.
  • Support management in decisions around business analysis, forecast and planning, especially from market perspective.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports, and annual financial estimates.
  • Develop and prepare presentations for management and business managers; development and maintenance of reporting tools to support business analysis.
  • Track and analyze all distributor incentives.
  • Manage pricing Validation and Audits.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance or accounting is required. An MBA is preferred. Must have 5+ years’ experience in finance, accounting or a commercial business.
  • Strong Understanding of distribution practices, Cross Operating Division market participation
  • Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g. advanced Excel, Word, and Power Point) proficiency required
  • Strong sense of accountability with demonstrated interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; experience leading project teams is desired.
  • Strong and demonstrated learning agility with ability to execute under tight deadlines.
  • Must have proven experience of performing quantitative analysis and leveraging that analysis to make strategic recommendations to management; experience working with and presenting to senior management required
