Staff Research Associate I

Job Duties

Position to assist with managerial of longitudinal patient count study. Candidate must be highly organized and able to coordinate patient scheduling, blood sample process, laboratory measures. Posting unit also includes training in obtaining measures. Additional responsibilities include updating human protocols (with supervision), submitting orders for purchases. Also, database management.

Job Qualifications

Good work ethics, strong communication skills, honest, and ability to work well with minimum supervision or as a part of a group. Experience using basic laboratory equipment (centrifuges, spectrophotometer, PCR machines, Ph meter, balances, and gel documentation) and familiar with both PC and Apple computer systems and software programs (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Understanding of University procedures and policies for working with biohazard, radioactive and hazardous chemicals, and their disposal. General knowledge of chemistry and meticulous preparation of reagents. Needs to be knowledgeable about cell culture and cell transfixion. Must be proficient in performing high-quality western blots and SDS-polyarchlamid get. Must be able to interact well with patients and the research team. Preferred: BS/BA in Molecular Biology or related field. Must be Proficient in patient scheduling, blood sample process, laboratory measures. Working knowledge of human protocols.
